    unfortunately, its precedent thats been set that the constitution applies to everyone on our soil regardless of how they got here. its why we had to setup GITMO. Constitution doesnt apply there.

    thats what its application should be, but it was designed to give former slaves citizenship. Their parents werent legal so thats kinda out. We should be passing a law that says you can be a legal citizen if you are born here and at least one of your parents is a legal citizen.

    sad to say, he's probably not wrong. but this is the first step in getting this up through the SC so they can redefine who gets birthright citizenship. Now, whether i think Coney Barrett and Roberts would uphold a birthright citizenship ban is an entirely nother issue.
