    Howa vs tikka

My first rifle was a Howa SS 30-06 in a McMillan stock. Now I own 3 Tikkas.. in McMillan stocks. IF the Howa had come with integral mounts machined into action and a little prettier bottom metal release, nearly all my rifles would be a Howas! Their "bones" are great... It just misses on those...

    Howa vs tikka

I had a 6,5x55 Tikka Varmint... and did not like the heavy barrel and sold it. Now I have an 223 Lite in a McMillan A-3. Over on Rockslide, they are showing off 10 round fast shot groups, with Tikka Lite barrels, that stay under 1" at 100 yards. Tikka have good barrels.. same as Sako.

    Mauser 98 actions

Yes. If you want a classic rifle, M98 is where its at! A custom M98 action costs from $5-6000. But you can build extremely nice rifles on plentiful and cheap "commercial" actions! Husqvarna 146, 640, FN M98 are easily available and great actions!! Several forums that cater to more classic...

New barrel for my Howa or another rifle for big game?

6,5x55 will probably be in good supply as DFS alone shoots millions of rounds each week in just this caliber.

New barrel for my Howa or another rifle for big game?

Ruger American? Really!! You must be into SM, getting nonexistent cartridges and sub par rifles. Hell, even a 6,5x55 would be better and is the cheapest big game cartridge to shoot in Norway. Fully loaded Lapua Match ammunition is cheaper then Lapua brass = cheap practice. Right now there...

    Hunting rifle

308 Win Tikka T3x Lite SS Upgrade stock if you like... Or McMillan Sako Hunter or any other stock you want. I like the Sako Hunter model. Looks like a hunting rifle and not a competition rifle. Chop barrel to 18-20" Add suppressor Sportsmatch rings Two spare magazines No need to upgrade...

New barrel for my Howa or another rifle for big game?

A barrel installed in Norway costs $680 or 770, for either a black or stainless Walther barrel. Add another $200 if you want Pac-Nor or Lilja. And another $86 for threading. (that all changes depending on currency) And I would get a 308 in that short action... Its point and shoot to 300m...

    Tikka T1X

Does anybody know if the top of the T1 action is lower then the T3 action? I have a stock for a T3, that is just a bit to low, so not getting a good checkweld using lowest possible T3 scope mounts. Then I though I could maybe get a T1x instead, IF the top of the dovetails are lower then T3...

    Tikkas are better than....

Tikka T3 was and is a budget rifle, released 20 years ago... When everybody still believed how the Rem 700 and 308 was the only way to go for precision rifles!! Luckily some have moved on... strangely prices has not moved on, as the Tikka T3 is still dirt cheap in the US. You get a: Superb...

    Tikkas are better than....

Remember the T3 came out 20 years ago.. Trigger better then 95% of all Rem triggers and handles dust, dirt, icing better then all.. Slicker then even most custom actions... while actually working in dust, dirt and icing.. Integral dovetail, that you can clamp scope rings like Spuhr or...

    Tikkas are better than....

Please consider that the T3 has been on the market for 20 years... and people are still now trying to find others that are better made or cheaper.... and still struggling! The T3 when launched would rival the best custom actions at the time selling for 3-4 more.. and still rival some of the...
