    .338 Lapua Mag Die Sets

Re: .338 Lapua Mag Die Sets It depends if you want to re-size your brass each time. Re-sizing your brass each time will reduce the life of the brass, but will make reloading more reliable. If you want to re-size each time, use a two die set. If you don't want to re-size each time, then use...

    Suppressors Which 1911?

Re: Which 1911? I can't give advice on which 1911 to get in that size for that price, but I can tell you what to stay away from. All the 1911 gun smiths that I have spoken with have told me to stay away from any 1911 with a barrel less than 3.5" as they are tricky to get them to run...

Need Help with 260 Chamber Specs on Krieger

Re: Need Help with 260 Chamber Specs on Krieger I'm building a very similar rifle. I'm having my smith use a .260 match reamer with .06 free bore from PTC. The free bore is what you have to watch out for. If it is too long, then 140gr bullets will not touch the lands when seated to mag...

    Gunsmithing Help with 260 Build

I'm building a new rifle and wanted to get some input before I send the parts to the gunsmith. The rifle will use a TAC30 action, BO DBM, and T4A Stock. The questions I have are the following: The chamber will be a match PTG reamer. I have read that both a .06" and a .1" freebore is idea for...

    This is what I have!

Re: This is what I have! Go to Hodgdon Online Reload Data and you can look up the load data for a 230gr .45ACP with Clays. When I looked it up it said to start at 3.5gr and max pressure was at 4gr. In my experience Clays burns dirty until you get into the higher pressures. With a .45ACP...

    Small Base Dies

Re: Small Base Dies Small base dies are typically used for rifles with match chambers. I recently ran into this problem as I have an AR15 with a match chamber. It will chamber virgin rounds but will not chamber rounds that have been resized on standard dies. From what I have been told, I...

Need some Professional advice on a set up

Re: Need some Professional advice on a set up If you are looking for a one press solution, it doesn't really exist. You have single stage presses for accuracy and progressive style presses for quantity. I like the Hornady AP progressive press as you can get it for $370 plus Hornady has a...

    .223 Resize

Re: .223 Resize For my AR rifles, I FL size so that the brass easily fits in the chamber. If you don't do this, you could have problems with the bolt completely closing. For my bolt action rifles, I prefer to only neck size. Not only do you not have to lube the cases when only neck sizing...

Which dies for 243 AI ??

Re: Which dies for 243 AI ?? I have the Redding Type S Match Bushing 2-Die set for .243AI and they work great accept I really don't want to do a full length re-size on the brass after I shoot. This both works the case more and is considered less accurate. Personally I recommend the 3 die set...

    175 smk.....where?

Re: 175 smk.....where? If you really need some 175gr .308 SMK, let me know. I have a few boxes sitting on my bench that I'm not going to use anytime soon. I could sell these to you for whatever the market price is right now. I'll have to give you the exact count when I get home but I have...

    Gunsmithing HS Precision HTR torque..

Re: HS Precision HTR torque.. If you look on HS Precision web site, they sell a 65 in/lb torque wrench to tighten the action to the stock. This is the same thing I always use on my HTR. Hope this helps.

AR Trigger: Single or Two Stage?

Re: AR Trigger: Single or Two Stage? I prefer the two stage as I get constant bump fires (sometimes in strings of three) with my single stage JP trigger. I'll soon be replacing my JR for a two stage like my other AR.

Rifle Scopes Good mount for AR10 for 1,000 yrds

Re: Good mount for AR10 for 1,000 yrds You might consider the Unimount by Night Force. It is a solid one piece mount with 20MOA and works great on AR platforms.

    6BR ??

Re: 6BR ?? I am building a similar stick as I want to have a 6mmbr in the line up of my rifles. I have been told that you can get the 6mmbr to feed out of the internal box magazine of the 700: 6mmbr 700 conversion Mickey Coleman said he has done this several times with good luck...

    Rifle Scopes Nightforce Optical Quality

Re: Nightforce Optical Quality I've seen this on other forums as well. My two NXS scopes have better glass than Leupold Mark IV or Nikon Tactical, although the Nikon Tactical is close. I'm sure that there are scopes with better glass out there, but I feel the quality of the optics on the...

Stupid question time - Neck sizing

Re: Stupid question time - Neck sizing If only resizing the neck with neck sizing only dies, then you don't need to use lube. Only when you re-size the body or bump the shoulder, do you need to use lube. I'm sure there are some people that lube the necks, but in my several thousand reloads...

    Stock question...

Re: Stock question... I have the HS, a McMillan A5, and a Manners T4A. My next stock will be another Manners as I think they are the best bang for the buck in premium stocks. Great quality and customer service. Their prices are lower than McMillan and the lead time is significantly less.
