    Than that says something about quality control letting this "bad" scope through. You can't go to a store and compare 20-30 scopes to pick out the best one. BTW: You can most definitly quantify the quality of the optics, camera lenses are reviewed/tested in the same way on sites like dpReview...

    I've shot steel out to 1800y with a 16x fixed leupold and a 12-50x S&B (@25-30x). Both are more than enough to hit the plates, but the extra magnification (20+) will make it easier to spot hits at those disances. At 800y I think you would be fine either way. There is not a lot between the two...

    As you state not everyone shoots F-Class, similarly not everyone is happy with 2moa. You hit the nail on the head when you state you will take the simplicity over accuracy. That is all I am saying; I'll take accuracy over simplicity. Same coin, different side.
