    For the defense side of things, I think it gives the perception of less training/fundamentals to hit your target. False confidence. Gun counter BS for the new handgun owner. If I were a gun manufacturer trying to sell a better mouse trap, it makes sense. But I’m not, therefore it doesn’t.

    I haven’t heard that (not at all saying it’s not true). I know some of the local machine shop jobs being done don’t leave the two “pins” in the front. This puts you relying solely on the two 6-40 screws. Reputable places that do these correctly haven’t requested the optic that I know of.
