Range Report .308 loads using 4064?

Re: .308 loads using 4064? Check your twist for 155s out of an M14. Tried them years ago in a 10 twist and they are OK out to 300 but go to hell at 600. 168s and 175s were good all over. The good ole standard of 41.5 of IMR 4895 in a LC case never let me down in a match.

Range Report Moly B and accuracy?

Re: Moly B and accuracy? I don't think it's been proven that moly increases or detracts from accuracy, but cleanup is a snap. No copper fouling to worry about.

Federal Gold 711B and 719 questions

Re: Federal Gold 711B and 719 questions +1 on Champion's Choice. Also, Tony will tell you what lots are performing. Get a couple of boxes of some recommendations, test them and then buy the winners in mass quantities. Wolf, SK, 711B, and Eley red and black box run in my 1907. Worst by far...

    155 or 168 ?

Re: 155 or 168 ? Definitely dependent upon barrel twist rate. 155s need a 13 twist for optimum performance. Shot 155s out of an M1-A for a couple of matches in a 10 twist barrel. Shot OK at 200 and 300 but wouldn't hold the 9 ring at 600. Switched midstring to 168s and finished up well...

Re: help settle this powder issue please Don't think you're going to be disappointed with either H4895 or Varget. The Hodgdon Extreme powders are the most thermally stable powders I've come across. Pressures stay the same, hot or cold, high pressure altitude or sea level.
