    Made a little progress fitting the stock and forearm. My carving skills suck along with my patience so there will be some gaps to fill with bedding. Working on the barrel band now. Picture of some of the crappy scrapers I made. Utility knife blades seem to work really well with a burr on one side.

    I know the traditional method for attaching a sight base to a receiver or barrel would be drilling/tapping +/or silver solder. What if the piece to be attached is aluminum and the barrel is chromoly? I know some wizard like C.Dixon could tig or solder it just right, but I tig like a toddler...

    I have a few harbor freight diamond grit sharpening stone with the plastic block peeled off. They work great for taking out scratch marks and cutting hardened stuff, but they can’t move a lot of metal.

    I had the same conclusion several times but 450 marlin ammo is $8/round and can really only be found on Gunbroker. Brass is basically unobtainable and can’t really be made by any method we here can weild.

    375 Raptor, bolt gun or gas gun for precision hunting rifle?

    Build something that pushes a .458 cal bullet at least 2200 fps…..be a man. Several rifles out there in .375 Ruger but brass/ammo are scarce. I don’t believe in overkill. F them deer.
