    Gunsmithing New tig welder advice

I've been looking at TIG welders myself and I think the one I'm going to get is the Eastwood 200 digital. https://www.eastwood.com/tig-200-digital.html They have a lot of things that the more spendy welders have. Deano

Been doing some testing on his HTI sleds. Both sleds work well for the 375ct, the flat top works better for the larger rounds 416B and 50cal. The ergonomics give you a bunch more room for your hand/ wrist behind the grip. They lock in very nice and have no wiggle. It's a really good fit. Hope...

M77, whats the little backpack? Looks like a nice small rig for a day of shooting. Not overly big, which means less weight. Deano

Northern Minnesota for hunting & fishing real estate

I had a buddy tell me that the deer population in northern MN is completely demolished. The same guy said that he was out sledding last winter and found a huge amount of wolf tracks and blood, followed it and found a black bear den. From what it sounds like is that the wolves were hungry and got...

Northern Minnesota for hunting & fishing real estate

There are still lots of fish in devils lake. I went out last year with my son and daughter and picked up 12 northern, 5 walleye and a couple white bass in just a few hrs. The northerns were from 3-5lbs. The walleye were 16-19" and the white bass were dinner plates. Didnt pick up any perch which...

    Fieldcraft Looking for a backpack

Lots of guys have already said Kifaru and I'll put my nod to them also. They're excellent for heavy loads. I've got several bags from them. All for different purposed, all of them have held up well and take a beating. Xdeano

Northern Minnesota for hunting & fishing real estate

Mn is nice. I'm just across the border in ND. If there is land up near lake of the woods or the arrow head of MN those would be decent spots. But there are tons of lakes in MN. Some are just glorified sloughs. Things to think about. Do you like having snow for 6 months of snow? Balls deep at...

    Carbon ring prevention

I only let mine sit for 15min also. Ive looked down my pipe with a borescope also. I'm no chemist but I'm pretty sure that isopropyl alcohol 91% does a pretty decent job at wiping out the water based cleaning agent. CLR has lactic acid and gluconic acid, those are the main ingredients according...

    Carbon ring prevention

CLR has worked for me for lots of years. The trick is to neutralize it with several alcohol patches after getting rid of the carbon. I'm no Barrett, but I do use premium barrels and they always come back around after getting rid of the carbon on a regular basis. After matches, or long shot...

Kirt McKenna over on Facebook under desert tech rifle shooters has a pretty cool mag sled that he's come up with. He has a couple different sizes. Standard and HTI. The HTI fits awesome in my rifle, it fits 375ct all the way up to 50bmg same sled. I just thought I'd help the guy get his...

    17 Rem bullet stability

The early rem700 17rem were 10twist then they switched them to 9. I shoot 30grn nagels. They kill coyotes very well. Nothing like the 20-25grn we use to shoot fox with back in the day. Deano
