    Ballistic Advantage barrels?

I had a BA govt profile nitrided barrel that shot pretty good for what it was. No stoppages that I can recall. A little overgassed but shot about 1.5 MOA with Hornady 75 steel cased practice ammo and other match loads. Shot around 2 MOA with most duty/SD loads.

Sidearms & Scatterguns SH handgun Dot Torture challenge

@bornhunter04 I shot my co worker’s P320 with a red dot (DP Pro) milled into the slide. 147 grain ammo. Verified zero at 25 yards and then shot 1-2 inch dots from 2 to 5 yards. Up close hold over was 1 inch tops. Photos are rotated to the left. Top square is 5 yards. Bottom square is 2-3...

Bypod Loading versus Pulling the rifle in the shoulder pocket?

I was pondering this same question myself. Phil Velayo did a good video on the subject covering 2 different situations:

[Video] Police Snipers train for Super Bowl LIV

Here’s a real world instance. .50 cal was used to disable the vehicle. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna374836 Not sure if there’s a smaller caliber that would be more effective in punching into an engine like that.

Sidearms & Scatterguns SH handgun Dot Torture challenge

Yeah I caught the RMR part after hitting the post button (d’oh!). Still 3.5 sounds like a lot. A co-worker has a Delta Point Pro on his 320. I’ll have to double check his zero at 25 give it a whirl today at 3 on a dot. I’d be curious if the P210 has a big offset too.

Sidearms & Scatterguns SH handgun Dot Torture challenge

Is your RMR milled into the slide or do you have a dovetail adaptor? 3.5” offset sounds like too much (that’s even more offset at 3 yards than an AR15). I’ve remembered shooting an RMR (milled into the slide) as close as 7 yards on a dot, but don’t recall having to offset to hit a dot at 7 vs a...

    Criterion barrel?

Does a cut rifled barrel have longer life than the typical button rifled barrel in the same caliber? If so, about how much more barrel life can be expected from cut rifled?

Sidearms & Scatterguns Suggestions for concealed carry rigs

For those who say the average (presumably law abiding) person won't notice printing of your gun, I agree. But, it's not the average law abiding person we need to worry about. If you print too much, it may make you a target to the right criminal...

Loading a CAL vs BT10 bipod

Also want to add that I’ve seen the disparity in accuracy when I’m in prone and I do not see any movement of the reticle. And I’m not trying to load the CAL hard. Just trying to control the forward movement and no more (As @Kasey wrote in another thread). I do pull back into my shoulder a bit...

Loading a CAL vs BT10 bipod

Perhaps. The bench top is plywood and tends to magnify any movement. To eliminate the movement from the heartbeat do I just load the bipod lighter? I just find it curious that the BT10 would be more forgiving in terms of movement than the CAL.

Loading a CAL vs BT10 bipod

I’ll have to try unlocking / loosening the CAL next range session. Shooting from a bench, I can tell my heartbeat imparts slightly more movement with a CAL than BT10 V8. The groups show it too. One upper will shoot 1.5” inch with a CAL and 1.25” with a BT10, so not a great difference, but...

Loading a CAL vs BT10 bipod

Surprisingly, I’m finding shooting with a BT10 Atlas produces more consistent groups compared to the CAL gen2 I just got. This is with shooting a few different AR uppers in 224V and .223 over a few range sessions. For me, it seems the slack in the BT10 allows me to get a more consistent load...

Range Report JP 224 Valkyrie Barrel Life Images

Ok good news, my barrel is not shot out. I plan to do a more thorough write up when I get a chance, but long story short, it was the combination of target and scope I have been using as of late. I got a SWFA SS 3-15 recently as a back-up scope to my Bushnell 4.5-18 LRHS. About the same time I...

Range Report JP 224 Valkyrie Barrel Life Images

Ah man, I sure hope not. That’s why I asked the question, to see what others have experienced. If people are seeing great accuracy (especially from factory ammo) after a similar or greater round count than mine, then I can focus on other factors like myself or other equipment. I’m not opposed...

Range Report JP 224 Valkyrie Barrel Life Images

Another year has past...any updates on 224V barrel life with different makes of barrels? I have a Craddock Bartlein 7 twist with about 3300 rounds through it. All factory loads. I’m thinking accuracy may be opening up a bit. It still has moments where it shoots a .6” group or a touch better...

    Bipod on AXMC

I took the “Pepsi” challenge the other day and shot a few groups with a couple of .223 uppers back to back between a Harris and an Atlas BT10. All groups were 5-8 rounds a piece. I owned the Harris and borrowed the Atlas from work. Prior to the I was thoroughly in the “Harris is just as good”...
