What’s a “good” 600 yard size group for an AR15?

@TheGerman thanks for posting that reality check there. I was wondering about the MK12’s accuracy spec. Whatever internet sources I could easily find on its accuracy said the MK12 was anything from “sub-MOA” to “.5 MOA” with mk262.

    PWS MK116 Mod2 for Coyotes

Off the bench I would expect about 1.5 - 2 MOA average with most match and duty ammo. A Co worker shot a bunch of groups with with his Mk118 with Sig Sauer 77 .223 and 75 gold dot both averaged to about 1.3 MOA for him. I’ve shot a bunch with Magtech 77 (1.5-2 moa) and Black Hills 75 .223...

    PWS MK116 Mod2 for Coyotes

@MPDS13 What ammo are you running through your uppers? My MK116 gets about 1.5-2 MOA with the match and duty loads I've tried as of late. Very reliable though. No stoppages other than failure to chamber a single Hornady Steel Match round in about 7000 rounds down the pipe.

How accurate is accurate? FACTORY AMMO

On a somewhat related question, how often can we expect factory ammo to deliver consistent single/near-single digit SD’s? I’ve shot my 224 Valkyrie a bunch and I have chrono’d it a number of times in various conditions and I’ve seen SD’s fluctuate. For example, on rare occasions factory 88 ELD...

...Interesting Post on 224V Accuracy Issues

Interesting enough, some of the broken tips have come from simply dropping the bolt on an inserted mag. I only knew because the bolt wouldn’t fully go into battery due to the plastic tip falling into the barrel extension I’ll try the single feed thing. Just curious what does single feeding...

...Interesting Post on 224V Accuracy Issues

I’ve had random factory 88 ELD tips break off upon chambering. Mostly when my bolt is dirty/dry. Surprisingly ones I have found with broken tips when unloading have gone into the same POA as the other rounds (at 100 yards) when rechambered and fired. So in my experience the broken tip didn’t...

    1 piece mount suggestions?

The Seekins mounts are 1.45” height of centerline over the rail. A lot of cantilever mounts for ARs will be about that height. That will be more than enough to clear the handguard.

    1 piece mount suggestions?

My Bobro was good until the single spring loaded recoil lug snapped off. I had it for about a year on a rifle shooting .223 (PWS piston and another conventional DI mid length upper). The Bobro held a Steiner P4xi for the most part. I then mounted a Bushnell LRHS 4.5-18. Maybe that was too big...

Short and light weight upper for hunting 6.8spc/6.5grend/224valk?

I’m not sure you can get 2800 with the Barnes round out of a 16” barrel for 224V. my 20” 224V (Craddock Bartlein) gets 2835 with Federal’s factory 78 TSX load.

Sig 77gr 223 Remington Ammo Reviews

It’s slow. The couple of lot numbers I chrono’d were in the 2400’s from a 16” barrel. Accuracy tends to be good (.8 MOA from a 5.56 Lothar Walther 16” / 1.5 MOA from 16” ballistic advantage 5.56 govt profile), but I did come across one sample that was horrible (about double in group size).

Rifle Scopes Advice on 3X magnifier for AR15

Rifle Scopes Advice on 3X magnifier for AR15

You’re not wrong. The magnifier would be more for gathering intel on a perimeter or at a distance, rather than shooting. Whether it’s the best tool for the job is debatable.

Rifle Scopes Advice on 3X magnifier for AR15

Not everything SWAT does is close quarters. Sometimes extra magnification can help with IDing threats.

Rifle Scopes Advice on 3X magnifier for AR15

I'm just passing along what I heard from SWAT guys at my agency. "Snagged" was not the best word to use, but the exposed knobs apparently would turn, presumably from rubbing against gear or rubbing against the walls of a gun bag. I didn't ask how much of a shift or how often the reticle...

Rifle Scopes Advice on 3X magnifier for AR15

Jefe, Which Aimpoint magnifier do you have? 3x-c? Multiple guys from my agency’s SWAT team have complained about the exposed adjustment knobs of the G33. I would prefer if the knobs were flush.

Rifle Scopes Advice on 3X magnifier for AR15

I too am interested in people’s replies. I can tell you that I tried, but didn’t like the EO Tech G33 magnifier (used in conjunction with an Aimpoint H2). The adjustment screws for the sight picture easily snag on gear and move. Also the balance of the gun feels off with the G33 flipped to the...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Bill Wilson on the 9MM vs the "Lord's caliber"

I’ve had the opportunity to view a number of gel shoots. I also have looked at several gel shoot “test” results. At the end of the research, I concluded there was no magic bullet that did everything you needed to do every time. Bullets did different things on different testing days. I’ve seen...
