Fieldcraft What distance is your zero?

Re: What distance is your zero? Assuming centerfire, the only chamberings I shoot that don't get at least a 200yd zero are the Hornet and K-Hornet(150yds). I maximize zero,as per particular flight characteristics of a given system, but am never more than 2.5" high at 100yds.

Gunsmithing My Stiller/Obermeyer/McM 6.5x47 Lapua Project

Re: My Stiller/Obermeyer/McM 6.5x47 Lapua Project I was hoping for a new rifle in yesterday's Mail and with the current weather,I'll not see it for a few weeks,on my next R&R. With luck,I'll have 2 show then.

Gunsmithing My Stiller/Obermeyer/McM 6.5x47 Lapua Project

Re: My Stiller/Obermeyer/McM 6.5x47 Lapua Project Bugholes tend to appear at the upper end of the pressure spectrum anyhow,so most things go hand in hand. I keep spacing off a .243" barrel order, for another 243AI.

    precision rifles... show em

Re: precision rifles... show em Marmot Oracle is THE shit for running & gunning,HH Impertech is good in some applications but doesn't breathe,is heavier and offers less range of motion. Doesn't compress nearly as well either. I don't backpack HH.

Re: precision rifles... show em Just field testing some Myth Busting. Heard a rumor that Kimbers were prone to rust, though I'm patiently awaiting that to happen. Always nice to lend a subtention reference to trout. Another of my favorite rifles.

    Maggie’s forum length

Re: forum length I'm going to quote me. "She's prepared to argue everything she's never done, with all the things she's never done it with. While an interesting stance,it IS easily fended." I very much like the accuracy of that modest compilation of words.

Re: forum length Everyone with like zipcodes, net like results. Salmon are extinct. King Crab are too. Trees don't grow back. Big barrels shoot farther. All bullets are the same. Grape KoolAid is the best.

Re: precision rifles... show em Make that Remington Hunter pattern. Sometimes I think I have too much shit. Regardless,I can like the handle in general, the rifle in particular. My first example,of that pattern.

Re: precision rifles... show em Northman, Stock is a Sako Varmint pattern. Contour is PSS-ish and it's .855" at the 24" muzzle. 56grs of Re-22,grants 2800fps on the nose with 162A-Max,SD's in single digits and it hangs nice little knots. Come-ups largely jive with the M3's 300Winny 190SMK...
