Night Vision Trijicon Reap vs Halo

As I continue to be stuck between the Reap 35mm & the Halo 25mm- it just occurred to me to ask about the real world difference between the lens size. Certianlly quite a difference. I know the REAP has a higher base magnification. but doesn't the larger lens give the REAP a range & FOV advaange...

Night Vision Reap IR battery housing issue? Cracked.....

Interestingly, I was speaking to a dealer yesterday about the REAP vs the Halo & I brought up the rechargeable battery issue. He told me a senior Trijicon rep advised him rechargeables can be used in the REAP-the one they recommend is the Surefire LFP 123A which is a lithium-phosphate...

    Night Vision TE Equipment

I hear. You. If they jerk me around I will simply cancel . Should be no more than 2 weeks I'm told. Certinally things are slow right now. I have online order from Lowes for a Pole saw that was placed on 4/4 they have not shipped yet!

    Night Vision TE Equipment

I actually did speak to Optics Planet yesterday. They sent me a invoice for the Reap at the agreed $6399 shipped price & confirmed I will earn the OP bucks. So once I pay them via Paypal I just have to wait for the unit to be shipped. I actually have bought quite a few things from them & have...

I am in the exact same boat- they are both great thermals. But I need to make a decision, going REAP.

    Night Vision TE Equipment

If you go to their website & request a quote they will e-mail it to you. Mine was $6398 shipped. I actually have been doing more research & found Optics Planet will match it ( I sent them the TE Quote) Advantage is they offer "OP Bucks" 2% of sale price which is like a gift card balance to use...

Night Vision Halo 25mm vs Trijicon Reap IR 30mm

Got you. Appreciate the input. Best price I am getting for a new REAP V2 30mm is $6300. Best 25mm Halo so far $5600. So $700 difference. WIsh I had the chance to put them side by side, but no luck here.

Night Vision Halo 25mm vs Trijicon Reap IR 30mm

I hear you, but let's be fair that's only 1 case regarding Trijicon . They are a known as a stand up company. And frankly since I'm looking at REAP Verson 2 , not a issue. I have read some of the N-Vsion reps posts & that is helpful - even though somebody asked about rechargeable brands as the...

Night Vision Halo 25mm vs Trijicon Reap IR 30mm

Understand, thanks I do want to clarify the Trijicon warranty: From their website just now. I like the lifetime on structure/optics. The 3 year electronics less than the 5 yr on Halo. Honestly I have had no issues with Trijicon support in the past on other products. I did read the thread about...

Night Vision Halo 25mm vs Trijicon Reap IR 30mm

Thanks guys,. Really tough decision here. Trijicon for the aluminum housing, reputation/history, great mount. Halo for rechargeable option, lower price.

Night Vision Halo 25mm vs Trijicon Reap IR 30mm

So I am giving the Halo another look after pretty much deciding to go with a Trijicon Reap 30mm. Any options on the QD mounts. I know the Reap has a well regarding return to zero mount, like to get opinions on the Halo's. I do still prefer the Trijicon aluminum body, but polymer is pretty...

Night Vision Reap IR battery housing issue? Cracked.....

Understand your point. I had the same one & done experience with Suppressors. Got a Silencerco Hybrid after lots of research thinking it would be all I needed. The bug set in, Then needed a .22 can. Then a dedicated 9mm, then a .compact .45. Now have a Rugged Radiant 762 in jail. I have read...

Night Vision Reap IR battery housing issue? Cracked.....

Agree about the logic of the adrenaline but not on your battery hypotheticals. Is someone is going to remember to put in fully charged rechargeables, why would not not the same logic apply to primary's? Start out the night conveniently with new ones - pretty simple. And of course carry spares...

Night Vision Reap IR battery housing issue? Cracked.....

I am heavily invested in the primary 123 battery. Probably have a dozen weaponlights & lasers from Surefire & Streamlight that use them. Plus at least that many flashlights that use 123 & 18650. And I would not consider using rechargeables in them as over time they lose their charge even when...

Night Vision Reap IR battery housing issue? Cracked.....

I understand what your saying, but a couple points. First I think the reason the Reap-IR is designed for primary batteries is that they are well suited for the device. They have a 10 year shelf life, usable in all extreme temperatures, stable output, ect. Rechargeables will drain down over time...
