MDT 12rd 308 mags or AICS

I file all the inside edges and around the front corner. It eliminates the scratching of the brass but more importantly to me, it takes less forward effort and smother when its not digging into the brass.

Berger NO BS DC Part 8 Reloading for the Long Range Shooter Part 2

I keep mine stored in my reloading room in the basement and have dehumidifier set at 55%. Im just wondering if storing it closer to shooting conditions is better? If stored too dry and ammo isn't sealed like they talked about, how long does it take for the powder to absorb the moisture? They...

Berger NO BS DC Part 8 Reloading for the Long Range Shooter Part 2

Another great podcast with Bryan and Emil. As a new reloader, these 2 podcasts have had some excellent info in them and its also great to hear the differences in thought on reloading. The talk on powder and the effects of humidity on it was very interesting. I would really like to have heard...

    Otto noise barrier foam tips

I would buy direct from otto or brownells. I bought mine from botach to save a little and when one went bad I contacted otto. They wanted me to go to botch to take care of it but got zero help from botach. No reply to emails or answered phone calls. Otto did take care of me then and had a new...

    Couple trimming questions

I 100% agree. Its great to see and hear ideas on how others do it, but I have been starting to shoot better since I quit asking for wind and started making my own calls and learning how to fix it. Thanks!

    Couple trimming questions

Thats interesting, I hadn't thought about seating long and then final seating to length. I'm sure most of this is beyond what I need in terms of acceptable accuracy when I still need to work on wind calling but if I'm gonna reload I just as well try and learn to do the best I can.

    Couple trimming questions

Yes, that would be correct. I guess I was thinking more resistance equated more tension which probably isn't the way to equate it.

    Couple trimming questions

Thanks guys, that helps but kinda leads to another related question I was thinking about in determining where to put trimming in my reloading process. Do you see seating issues if you leave your expanded brass sit unloaded for an amount of time before charging and seating?? I've heard that if...

    Couple trimming questions

I was just comparing my smaller non expanded case size to the case that came with the trimmer that it was set up to in asking if its worth fiddling with the cutter for the .0015 smaller case diameter. The few I did at that size I didn't think looked to bad but not as nice as the one sent with...

    Couple trimming questions

Just got my Giraud trimmer and was wondering a couple things. I size and mandrel to expand. Should I trim before expanding or after? I'd kinda like to trim before so all brass prep is done and cases are just waiting to be expanded, charged and seated. If I trim before expanding, the case...

How much to push Hornady brass?

Ok thanks. Yes just was curious as to whether either is to hard for Hornady brass longevity. I have a fair amount of it and kind of want to see what I can get out of it and not fret over every piece lost in the grass lol. I'm not sure what caused the spike at 42.8. I was pretty diligent...

How much to push Hornady brass?

So I've heard guys saying they can get 10-12 firungs with Hornady brass if its not pushed to hard so I'm trying to decide which node I want to explore on this new barrel. Hornady manual says 41.5 is max for this load so would the 41.7 node be pushing it to hard? I wouldn't mind being closer to...

    Couple Kestrel questions

Ok thank you for the info. Seeing that you could switch between g1, g7, and custom in the kestrel i guess i just assumed all that info for all 3 was there for that particular bullet taken from the library the way you can in the Ab mobile app.

    Couple Kestrel questions

Yeah I'm hosed on names with 3 different rifles of the same caliber with using factory and handloads and soon to add supressed or not. I think I will just erase everything and start all over now that I know that when you switch from a custom curve to a g7 it just gives you a default number...

    Couple Kestrel questions

Hmm ok well I guess I don't like that either when I'm used to being able switch between gi, g7, and custom in mobile when its pulled from the library. Doesnt make alot of sense to me why it would only give you the custom and not the g1 and g7 also to go off of if it gives you the option to...

    Couple Kestrel questions

Lol I'm with you if I can lose it I will. I've only uploaded changes from my phone to the kestrel. Any intentional change I would have made would have been in my phone and then written to the kestrel which is why I'm confused. I dont know how to access the bullet library from whithin the...

    Couple Kestrel questions

Thanks, yes I understand thats how its going to be. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is how did I manage to select a completely different bullet profile from within the kestrel as the g1 and g7 numbers in the kestrel don't match the numbers in the same guns in the link app.
