Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

Drop tube made some difference. No way I'm getting 48.0gr in there, this is 46.8 Peterson SRP brass. Again, never having done compressed loads before I'm not sure if this is a bit much. I've got loads from 43.2 to this in .4 incremei. We'll see this weekend!

Proof Stainless Steel Barrels (Not CF!)

Anyone used one of the factory proof prefits? I wonder how good their in house chambering work is?

Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

Picked up some H1000 to try. Hogdgon says I can stuff 48.0 gr in there as a Max load, compressed of course. This is 46.8. I've never done compressed loads, just going by my photo, is this a no-no?

Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

Can I expect the same issues with a can using H1000 like others have mentioned with 4831? I had planned on shooting the rifle suppressed regularly.

Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

I'm not aiming for that velocity I just noticed that the ballistics, at even that slow of a speed, are acceptable for me. 2900+ with a slower powder would be ideal.

Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

Hodgdon shows a 6 Creed load using a 115 vld with 48.0 gr of h1000 running 2944. That is their max compressed load. Starting load is 43.2 @ 2687. From what I've read online these #'s are optimistic but I think I'll give it a try.

Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

I am looking for an alternative to H4350, something cooler. Have you guys had success with this cartridge using slower burning powders? I am also not terribly worried about velocity. If they run 2750, I don't care. The numbers show they are nearly identical to my 142gr SMK load at the same...

    Nucleus Orders

Anyone put one of these in a standard backbone KRG Bravo? Hoping my barloc setup will fit and i don't have to order the larger whiskey 4 backbone.

Looks like it's going to be a 1:7.7

    What bullet for .223AI?

Are the eldm's sensitive to seating depth?

    What bullet for .223AI?

Boy you're not kidding. An 80gr @ 3000 is nearly 6.5creed ballistics. Hopefully I don't have to load too hot for that.

    What bullet for .223AI?

I guess I should have worded that differently. I'm more curious about throating, should I have it throated for the 70+ gr bullets or step up to the 80-90's. One of the main appeals of the Ackley is you pretty much have to trim brass once. Ever. The speed is an added benefit :)

    What bullet for .223AI?

Having a 223AI built. Was planning on doing a 24" 1:7 with 75 eldm's but am open to other heavies. Is 1:7 too fast for that bullet at AI speeds? What do you feel the sweet spot is, bullet and twist rate, for this chambering? Just looking to shoot steel and paper.

    Cost effective/Complimentary Caliber?

Do you find it easy to spot impacts out to 750? What bullet are you shooting?

    Cost effective/Complimentary Caliber?

I do have 2 308s, they are both for sale. That has nothing to do with the caliber though. And I'm far from good at calling the wind with it, still have plenty to learn.

    Cost effective/Complimentary Caliber?

I definitely get the cost analysis. The new rifle costs more, period. It's more a peace of mind and convienance thing I guess, which is silly. Not worrying about a new barrel every year, having to work up a new load, fire form brass, ECT. Plus I want a rifle, haha.

    Cost effective/Complimentary Caliber?

I don't want to say strictly a trainer but something along those lines. Fun to shoot, cheap to feed (I'm fine with no factory ammo), don't have to worry about barrel life or chasing the lands.

    Cost effective/Complimentary Caliber?

So I've got a 6mm Creedmoor and I'm looking to build another rifle with the same action/stock to compliment it. I'm looking for complimentary caliber, something that is easy to load for and affordable to shoot. I want a good balance of barrel cost (life) and reloading component cost. Not...
