Building an LR Training / PRS / NLR range...advice?

Any advice on the actual range design for the LR section? Right now we're thinking 3 LR bays, at a mile, 1000y and 600-800y. Is there anything in particular that can be done during the building phase that would make for better PRS/NRL matches? My experience is in multigun/pistol matches.

Building an LR Training / PRS / NLR range...advice?

You guys are awesome, thanks for all the input. We already have a lot of this incorporated, but there are some good ideas in here we hadn't thought of.

    Advice on over-gassed options?

Yeah the little guy is a beast. Makes my full-sized race gun feel like a 22lr. I wouldn’t mind taming it a bit.

    Advice on over-gassed options?

Lots of great advice here, thanks everyone. Is the Seekins Select Adjustable Gas Block a good option? I can get one for $0 (via a gift card) so it's currently at the top of my list for that reason. :)

    Advice on over-gassed options?

I've got a 7.5" AR Pistol that is over-gassed, ejecting brass at around 1:30ish. Currently has a 3oz buffer. My current thinking is just to get a heavier buffer to tame it a bit. I'm also considering an ARMASPEC STEALTH RECOIL SPRING. Does anyone have any recommendations on what weight...

Building an LR Training / PRS / NLR range...advice?

If you were going to build a shooting facility that includes the ability to stretch out to 1 mile, what would you build? Used for training classes, PRS/NRL style competitions, and other one-off events. It would be private/club range only, not public, setup as an LLC, with on-site caretakers...

    Reloading. Step by step.

Love it. A short video like that is super useful for those getting started. The longer videos are great, but when it's time to get to work, a quick reference like this is handy.

Yeah, I already signed up, figuring it would get worked out. I also just got an official reply from Sarah though: So that's awesome. :)

    Tactical Games

Yeah that's awesome, the kind of attitude/action that makes we want to do it even more. Unfortunately I'm one of the Californians that gets screwed. For example, all 5 of their approved muzzle devices are illegal in CA unless you registered an AW (f*ck that). I don't have a single rifle that...

    Tactical Games

I'm signing up for the May 2020 TTG in California. I've been following these since the beginning, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to go to one now. Even with the drawbacks/concerns, I think it will be a lot of fun and very different from what I'm used to, which is 3gun. The things I...

Ha...That almost made me spit my coffee out. I just went on a trip where my buddy with the 300Blk pistol said exactly that.

    Magnetospeed mounted to AR handguard?

MLOK? If so, you can get a long MLOK-Picatinny rail section that can hang past the end of the handguard to get your positioning correct. Or if it's not MLOK, is there another type of add-on Picatinny that works with your handguard? You'd need the Picatinny adapter from Magnetospeed as well...

Password Apps, Good or Bad ?

I’ve used LastPass for like a decade. Love it. I accept the compromises. But I also use two-factor authentication for any important logins.

Who hunts with their large frame gasser?

I took mine on a deer hunt in southwestern Alaska (Sitkalidak Island). A semi-auto 308 made me way more comfortable with the giant Kodiak bears that wanted to eat me roaming all over the place. We were hard charging in some harsh terrain (if I never see another alder stand I'll be just...

Rifle Scopes Speed of LPVO vs Red Dot

I've been thinking of swapping my red dot for a 1x prism for this reason, and because I have an astigmatism. The prism has an etched reticle that works with or without illumination, and I think would work better in this scenario.

Rifle Scopes Speed of LPVO vs Red Dot

What’s the intended use? Home defense, 3Gun, range toy, duty, etc.? I’d pick something different for all of those. I’ve used both on the clock at 3Gun matches and in training, and my splits aren’t discernibly different. LPVO adds weight and cost if you’re getting quality glass that is...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Carry Suggestions

I like metal guns with hammers, m9/92fs was my first and only pistol for a long time. So I go with a CZ PCR. I also compete with either a CZ SP01 (9mm) or CZ 97B (45ACP), so I echo what others have said, go with what you know and feel comfortable with.

Member Link Up 29 palms / joshua tree / palm springs

I'll be in the Rancho Mirage area December 22 through January 4th and I'm looking for a place to shoot while I'm there. I'd love to get access out to 800ish yards. Is Pala the best option for me? I won't be able to bring much in the way of targets with me, and I can only do day trips (no...
