    Thanks, it’s a low numbered reciever, rebarreled in 42, used as a prade gun by a VFW unit. Years of blanks and no cleaning wrecked the barrel. So we made her a 22 and it is pure fun.

    Today was vintage 22 day at the range. And being the masochist’s we are we decided to shoot at 200 yards. My buddy Ken had his Winder musket in 22 short and mine is a Springfield 03, converted to 22 long rifle. We run the “no balls challenge “ an 8x10 target at 200 offhand. Good times!

    Head position is all important with these scopes. And it’s not easy with the stock configuration. I dont use a cheekpad on my rifle, and the slightest variation in head position sends that round out of the group. Sometimes in spectacular fashion!!! But that’s why I love shooting these rifles...
