Prs rifles beginner/budget and if the remington 700 is worth getting off the shelf in 2024?

So according to the video much tighter tolerances than within 0.005 or +/- 0.005". More like within a total of 0.0005" or less. Theoretically that would make the tolerances so tight that you could take a factory barrel from the new Remarms factory and screw it on a new Remarms 700 action and...

    Northeast Hunting

Hunting for meat or a trophy? One nice thing about taking a young buck or doe is you'll eat good all winter. And if it's cool in your area you can hang the carcass in the garage and work on cutting and wrapping during the week after work.

Prs rifles beginner/budget and if the remington 700 is worth getting off the shelf in 2024?

My old Remingtons shoot well even though they aren't trued. Even my 1990's era PSS shoots well, and it's exterior dimensions are off. As are it's scope mount holes. I doubt you'll have to true a new Remarms action. They finish machining after heat treat. The tolerances are supposed to be like...

Prs rifles beginner/budget and if the remington 700 is worth getting off the shelf in 2024?

I put a new Remarms 700 ADL7mm RM in a used KRG Bravo stock. Three shot groups at 100 yards and 550 yards.

Disappointed in Ruger American Rimfire Target

Our shop would have sent it back to the distributor for a replacement rifle. I just did that with a Sp101 that I found that was defective.

    Leaving ammo behind

I did a "Night Time Officer Survival" course with Ken Good and Barry Dueck before they were big names somewhere in the mid 90's. They used lower capacity paintball guns for that class. This was before I got to the "bruise like a peach" stage in life lol.

    Leaving ammo behind

Definitely up there. One bad thing is the big capacity. Encourages spray and pray. But it is true that game has value. Pain is a great motivator not to get shot lol.

    Leaving ammo behind

Now as far as an instructor getting so irate as to shoot someone's partially loaded mag I haven't heard of this. And I'd probably have some serious concerns of someone that did. I've trained with some pretty big names and some that should of been big names. The ones that didn't have big names...

    Leaving ammo behind

Yes but there are ways to operate within the rules to gain good skills. The issue for me was dealing with dweebs that kept on telling me "tactical" this and "tactical" that. Guys that would piss their pants if you got a bit western with them. After getting tired of dealing with the chess club...

    Leaving ammo behind

Yes it can be, depends on the agency and what section of each agency. There are many individual officers that take it seriously. But firearms skills is just one of the skills they need.

What is generally considered the most precise semi-auto rifle?

My last "precise" 308 win semi auto was a M1A. I have a STG-58 now built on an Imbel receiver. But I mostly use my AR15's for actual hunting out to 500 yards, maybe 600 yards. Steel out to 800 yards but I can't see the splash.

Big Magnum Revolver, what is just right?

However I should say I gave my buddy my S&W M29 so now I carry my S&W 686 4". It's my go to for snake, coyote, cougar, black bear, wolves, and two legged varmints in the woods.

Big Magnum Revolver, what is just right?

My limit WAS a S&W Model 29 4". I carried that in Alaska stoked with 300 gr hardcast WFN bullets. 45 LC would be another good one handloaded hot. Sure their are bigger but for me as a working bear defense handgun to augment a rifle that's my pick.

    Leaving ammo behind

It's probably faster to dump the mag and run up to the next section to fire from in this case. And that's where it's a game. For me I'd either reload prior to moving to the next section and fire on the move. Many times I'd get a penalty for doing this as they would want me to fire from a...

    6.5 Staball disappointing

My ES isn't great with a lot in the 20 fps plus area. I'm wondering if more neck tension might help to low the ES. A Lee Factory Crimp die might help. Unfortunately they don't make the one I need... a 260 AI.
