Cam over or free float? Redding Type S full length sizing die

Maybe I'm missing something here but once the shell holder and die touch the case will not be pushed into the die any more. So why stress the press with cam over? Having the shell holder just touching the die should be sufficient, IMO.

    Solid rest recommendations

Get a rest with some weight to it. Get a front bag that is 3" wide and use a forend benchrest adapter such as this: brownells.com/shooting-accessories/shooting-rests/shooting-rest-accessories/swivel-mount-benchrest-adaptor-sku749004954-35661-68511.aspx?sku=749-004-954. This device will...

I hate dry tumbling after resizing - what are the alternatives

I put Nu-Finish in it along with a used dryer sheet. After tumbling I use a Dillon media separator then place the brass in a towel to remove any dust. Now with the weather getting better I put the vibrator tumbler outside and leave the top off. Any slight breeze will carry away any dust.

I hate dry tumbling after resizing - what are the alternatives

I use this media and it never gets stuck in the flash holes. amazon.com/Zilla-Reptile-Terrarium-Bedding-Substrate/dp/B000OQRGF2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1BX74LX34999H&keywords=desert%2Bblend%2Bwalnut%2Bmedia&qid=1652978765&sprefix=%2Caps%2C2770&sr=8-1&th=1

    Favorite Collet Puller?

I use the Forster puller and it works great. Also use it to hold gauge pins for sizing case necks. But if I was to do it over again I would closely look at the Hornady unit.

    ES vs SD

Now that makes sense and puts the ES/SD issue into perspective.

    ES vs SD

Kindly explain what you stated. Doesn't make sense to me.

    ES vs SD

ES or SD? Same thing as MOA or MILs. Both give you the info you need, just via a larger or smaller number.

I hate dry tumbling after resizing - what are the alternatives

They are referring to the lube not affecting the powder and/or primer, not how it may affect the case/chamber relationship. Every reloading manual I have read states that lube should not be left on the case. If leaving lube on the case wouldn't make any difference then the manuals would mention...

I hate dry tumbling after resizing - what are the alternatives

I do. You'll be surprised how much dirt and carbon residue the dryer sheet picks up. Media lasts a lot longer.

I hate dry tumbling after resizing - what are the alternatives

Eliminate the problem! I use Zilla Ground English Walnut Shells Desert Blend from Amazon. Inexpensive and it's small enough so it doesn't get stuck in the flash holes. Been using it for years after giving up on corn cob media.

    Reloading Press

I bought the Lyman Spar-T in the early 70s. Still works great. If I was going to get another turret it would be between the T-7 and the Lyman 8 station turret.

    Peened Case Mouths

And these are the facts as I understand them. Do your loading as you want to and stop trying to convince everyone else that there is ONLY one way to do something...........Your way! Shooting matches are won by shooters who do things differently than some other shooters do them. And they win...

    Peened Case Mouths

Did you notice my disclaimer? "IMO". You can believe whatever you want and clean your brass however you want. I stated MY OPINION.

    Peened Case Mouths

Glad it's working for you. Yeah, annealing would be the way to counter the work hardening issue, not to mention keeping the neck tension the same as much as possible.

    Peened Case Mouths

If you can see peening that means the brass has been work hardened. Unless the brass was designed to be peened (work hardened) every time it is cleaned, IMO the brass has been damaged. I have looked at every possible benefit of wet cleaning and besides getting the brass really clean, the...

    Reloading Press

The only thing I don't care for with the Co-Ax is the smaller opening for the case. Those links do get in the way but you learn to adjust for it. Speed? Speed is not a big deal for me when using a single stage press. If I want to make ammo quickly I'll use my 550B. The T-7 is a great press but...

So I guess you don't care for the Co-Ax?

    Reloading Press

Life is short. Get both presses. You will understand this when you see the benefits of having both presses. Those handloaders on this forum that have both can attest to that.

    Peened Case Mouths

I agree. Water provides very little to slow down the cases when they are tumbled. The reason you don't hear about peening with media tumbling is that the cases don't fall onto other cases. They just slide around and don't hit each other with enough force to damage other cases. Other than cases...
