Critters have been lining up and dying lately at the Neck. Tested a NF this evening on a doe with a suppressed 44 mag, she lost her CPU. I hate it when that happens! Take care and give a shout if this way
While I didn't get any pics this afternoon I did take advantage of head shot Wednesday. Dropped a 140# doe at 125 with a SRT 44 mag loaded with 300gr XTP's. It took her off her feet. The other deer between us looked up and went right back to eating. I have been really impressed with this...
My brother is in Mobile looking for a NFA dealer to get his first suppressor. Do any of you guys know a dealer in the area? He can't seem to find one.
Thanks
I tries a vortex viper on my 22 and 44suppressed. Couldn't get enough elevation so I went back to my trusted nightforce 3.5x15. They just keep dialing up!
Jesse there is absolutely nothing wrong with a close shot. For me it means I have done my scouting properly. Keep practicing with the 308 then go get you a bow. It gets really personal then!
Any caliber works if you have faith in gun bullet and shoot placement. I prefer a magnum caliber for hunting because as mentioned above it makes up for poor placement. If you don't think bad shots happen you best take up knitting! In the end the caliber is what you have the confidence in!!!
We always keep our group together at night. If we separate all weapons are bolts open until we gather back. We also very carefully call for movement and clearly define our lanes or directions of fire before starting to shoot. We are mainly pig hunting but they can go anywhere so clear fire...
While I never had a scope problem they have been very quick in turning around several scopes I have sent back to change zero stops or reticles. Always very polite and helpful! Great service is very hard to come by today in America! Thank you Nightforce
Weshowe you have not fired the 6.5 saum. It simulates a grenade shot from inside the animal. Might want to try one, ask Pat Sinclair. I have fired many large calibers and this little round hits pretty dang hard. I parked my 300 wm and 7wsm in favor of the 6.5 shooting little 130 gr vld's.
