    New Vortex Fury models upcoming?

Hi. Im seeing that our local importer has a sale on the Vortex Fury 5000 range finder binos, and im wondering if there is an updated model coming up soon? This range finder looks perfect for me, if it wasnt for the 10x magnification. I prefer 8x as it is easier to keep steady while standing up...

Help me decide budget long range scope

Hehe, love to live in Norway with free healthcare and education etc, but some scopes are hard to get here and others are just way overpriced. Will pay attention to the used section here on the forum and see if any gems pops up. If I can find a nice deal on a XTR 3, i could go for it. Seening the...

Help me decide budget long range scope

thanks for all the feedback guys. Some of the scopes you have listed are a bit above my price range (sightron and meopta are both around 1300USD). Generally we have at least 30% higher prices than the US, and since the marked is smaller we dont have as many nice offers on optics. Also the...

Help me decide budget long range scope

I cant find any XTR 3 in my country (Norway) and would prefer to buy something locally due to warranty claims etc. I also get an extra 25% tax if I get a US supplier to ship here, and often they wont due to export regulations. Here the XTR 2 scopes sells for about 1700-2000 USD new... Where have...

Help me decide budget long range scope

thanks for the feedback. It doesnt have to be from this list, just be in the sub 1000 dollar range (both new and used is fine). Im by no means a burris fanboy, it just seemed like a good deal compared to the new price. I would however prefer a 56mm lens.

Help me decide budget long range scope

Hi guys. Im currently looking for budget scopes with around 5-25x56 specs. (4-20, 3-18 etc is OK, but i prefer 5x zoom or more.) I can currently score the following scopes for about the same cost, where the Arken is a tad cheaper. Burris XTR 2 5-25x50 second hand: most expensive new, but have...

Gunsmithing Changing Barrels in the Field.....

Some of us also have blaser r93s or r8s where the optics are mounted on the barrel for 100% reliability. Changing calibre is done in less than 30 sec, and i do it all the time on the range. Never out hunting though.

Rifle Scopes Sightron SIII 1-7x24 experiences

SWFA SS HD 1-6x24 Tactical 30mm Riflescope maybe the SS 1-6x24 is a better choice? Its really important for me that the reticle stands out at all magnification levels.

Rifle Scopes Sightron SIII 1-7x24 experiences

Yea. I dont want ffp for the exact reasons you say. I dont need mil dot etc and turrets etc, but of course its not negative to have them. I need a scope that goes from 1x to either 5-6-7-8 and works well for hunting. Its for subsonic or big game hunting, so the reticle has to stand out well at...

Rifle Scopes Sightron SIII 1-7x24 experiences

Hi. Im looking for updated experiences on the SIII 1-7x24 scope. I will use it for hunting on short to medium ranges, and wonder how well the reticle stands out at 1x and how visible the red dot is during the day. I have read that its not a real daytime dot. Any idea if this will be...

Why are militaries going for .338LM instead of 300 magnums?

Amax is an expanding bullet, which is illegal to use on personell. A LM will have the ability to deliver more energy and they can use 300gr bullets. Fra iPhone

Rifle Scopes Best optics to date for low light hunting

Here we dont have any legal shooting time, as long as it is safe to shoot. Its the quality of the glass and coatings that mainly improve low light conditions, i.e the light transmission. One will also need some magnification to cope with the low contrast. More zoom (not magnification) means more...

Rifle Scopes Best optics to date for low light hunting

I had a situation recently, where i was able to see the deer in my 8x42 zeiss conquest HD ( the german made ones), but was not able to se them at all in my zeiss diavari classic 2,5-10x50. Although cheaper glass, like nikon and bushnell might work at most conditions, im seeking the scope that'll...
