    You could try gently heating the brake (over a gas burner or similar, maybe very hot water might work). If some strong threadlocker has been used, that might soften the bond enough for you to turn it.

    Re: Sightron Scope choices... Waiting for the 8-32x was a good decision. I had one for a couple of years on an f-class rifle. Best value for money scope you can buy IMHO. Was really impressed with the reliability and tracking.
