DIY paint/cerakoate fiberglass stock? Bought used T4A today. (Pic)

I like Krylon for painting stocks, it wears off as you use it and I think it adds character. Make it look like a tool not a safe queen. Pro tip, do not touch your stock for at least 3 days after you paint it (maybe a week outside of CO AZ NM), the oils on your skin will not allow the Krylon to...

Go with the 6.5 CM, and if you want less frustration and ready to hit targets out of the box, go with JP's suggestion.

    Cold Weather Shooting Gear?

For any cold weather activity, layering is your friend. Carhart is good and purpose built, its tough thick and can handle strenuous work, abrasion and somewhat ripproof. The only issue i see is most of it is made of cotton, which will absorb and retain sweat. Part of staying warm is the ability...

Hunting & Fishing New Hunting clothing stinks, literally

Try washing by hand with all the tricks (lemon, viniger etc). My previous washer (front loader) was a bacterial mess. The kids would let towels sit for days and never vent the damn thing. All my poly shirts would smell ok out of the dryer, but after one hour of work they would smell like dog...

Rifle Scopes SFP Scopes for Hunting

That is a great scope, I have the 3-15x42 with Z800 reticle. No need to worry about turrets because it has hash and drops out to 800. Zeiss has a phone app that goes along with it, although I suggest getting to a range to test it out to 800 if possible. You can also get an external turret from...

Subs in a .308 better to go heavy or in 175 range

+1 ^^ flat base bullets do well with subs, so if you have some old hunting bullets give them a go (as far as accuracy).

I have 5 Tikkas, 4 T3 one T3X. the only one that was affected was the 7 mag with a Leupold with M1 knobs. 6.5 should be fine.

    Is a Tikka T3X worth $150 more than a T3

For larger cartridges like -06 300 and 7 mags yes. In the T3 if you have a larger windage knob on your scope, the spent case would hit the windage knob and bounce right back into the action. The larger port helped to change the ejection angle. Other than that the only difference is the top of...

Rifle Scopes Truing scope movement at 25 yds

Also the point of impact may/will not transfer to longer distance. 1 moa at 100y is only .017 degrees of variance, as the holes in the paper represent arcs not distance. at 25Y .00425 degrees of variance will equate to 1 moa at 100Y. In short, bullet holes at 25Y may stack one on top of the...

99' Jeep Cherokee Sport, nothin fancy and gets me where I need to go. Pros: Its paid for, insurance is cheap. Its a straight 6 and starts every single time. Brass value

There really isn't a standard way of pricing brass in the secondary market. There are online retailers that deal in bulk and you can sort of compare and contrast with their pricing. Here are some factors that will effect pricing of your brass. Chambering: 308, 223 and 300WM are all surplus...

Mcmillian a5 stock question about accuracy issues

It's as simple as cutting the cork and laying it in the barrel channel. Start with one piece and stack another if your bipod is really pulling it away. In your case it will only be for troubleshooting. You can call McMillan and see what they can do for you or have someone bed the rifle for you...

Mcmillian a5 stock question about accuracy issues

The end goal is to get it shooting well in the McMillan. First shoot off of a bag to rule out forearm flex while bipod loading, or bipod hop off of a bench. Try holding the forearm, vs supporting the butt of the rifle with your support hand. Next try the cork thing, it will help determine if...

Mcmillian a5 stock question about accuracy issues

Yes it happens like that sometimes. The action may not be setting in the McMillan correctly and may need to be bedded. The tip I gave was a from the late Gale McMillan when I was researching my issue. Dont take the quote the wrong way as some Remington barrels can shoot, but they are not...

Mcmillian a5 stock question about accuracy issues

Try shooting off of your pack or range bag and see if that helps. It will mitigate bipod flex. You can pull the action out again and re-torque to spec. Another thing to try is getting some cork gasket material from the autoparts store and cut a bit out and place it in the barrel channel towards...

    Necking

If you neck down, you will need to trim the outside of the neck as it will be thick. If the brass is very thick it will not chamber. Necking up will work, just go slow and anneal if you can to prevent splits.
