    Gear for 2-gun fun run

I learned a hard lesson in one match. Shot a stage and the timer took a shit. My options were let the RO guess my time or re-shoot. Re-shoot wasn't an option with another 4 blind stages ahead of me. He guessed, I moved on. I typically carry an extra mag as a just in case option. Maybe a...

    Gear for 2-gun fun run

Great job. Definitely keep your ammo on you. I only use a pack if I know I'll need extra water. My setup for the last many races: AWS LAB belt, ghetto rigged suspenders. Pouches L to R: BFG 10 speed double pistol pouch BFG 10 speed rifle pouch BFG 2x rifle pouch (usually 1x 55gr mag, 1x...

Nxs 2.5-10 on a longer range hunting rifle?

My 2.5-10x32 Mil Dot is one that I'll never let go of. I wish they'd update the X42 model with a newer reticle. I never warmed up to the Mil-R

    Gear for 2-gun fun run

In my experience I run cooler with pants and long sleeves. I used to do the Pawnee OK run every year (10k and 20k depending on the year). Long exposure in the sun will smoke you. I got actual heat stroke one year(stopped sweating, lost consciousness, vomiting). In a long race, with long...

Nxs 2.5-10 on a longer range hunting rifle?

I have the older x32 version witha mildot reticle. The glass is more than adequate for shooting steel out to 1000 yards. I use it for hunting every year. I'll disagree with the poster above on FFP. If I'm shooting 500 yards I'll be cranked up to 10x. Otherwise hold under/over out to 300...

Pa plxc 1-8, vudu 1-10, razor 1-10. Looking for real world input.

Update on the PLX 1-8 Compact: I ran the River Bend Run'n'gun 10K a few weeks ago with the PLX 1-8 Griffin Mil. It was mounted to my 12.5" 5.56 AR with a Turbo K suppressor. Stages were 3-~500 yards. A single stage had ~200, ~300, and 500 yard targets while everything else was ~150 and in...

Also curious to hear opinions of this vs a PST II 3-15. Very similar price now.

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

I've only seen the older FCDM in person. The X looks much cleaner in Strelok. Agree on the new reticle for the NXS. I'd like to see a better reticle in the 2.5-10x32. That's essentially the new Athlon Helos 2-12, but Chinese and 25oz. Maybe it's irrational but I love the old NXS 2.5-10x32...

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

Interesting. I haven't been able to look through a Razor 1-10. I've used the ATACR before and had a different impression, but it was in much better conditions which may have masked some of the performance drop off at 8x. Agree I think the ACSS isn't ideal. I like the doughnut and mil...

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

I was able to test my PLX-C 1-8 yesterday from 100-600 yards. Overall it seems like a high quality optic. I'm not convinced the tradeoffs are right for how I want to use it. Generally the optical performance degrades at over 6.5x. the conditions were poor(45 deg, heavy rain, 5-10mph wind)...

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

I do wish PA would make it easier to check a reticle before buying. Basic measurements would make the purchase decision a hell of a lot easier.

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

I read through a few of the recommended posts on the forum for how to set the diopter. Probably the biggest help was @koshkin suggestion to set it outdoors on a target ~10-15 yards away. Making the image flat in that 15 yard range vs the 5-7 yards I could get indoors is a much better setting...

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

Yeah, I just did a search and found an interesting suggestion from DLO to make sure you don't try to set indoors. You need ~10-15 yards or so to dial it in. I'll try outside again and see if it works better. My main surprise is that I can get a sharp reticle at 8x and a flat image at 1x, but...

Rifle Scopes New Primary Arms PLXC 1-8 FFP

Has anyone found it difficult to adjust the diopter on their PLX-C? I've tried adjusting for a flat image at 1x and for a sharp reticle at 8x. It seems like no matter what I do I end up with a fuzzy image at 1x(either the image is fuzzy or the reticle, or both). This is my first FFP LPVO...

    Rifle Scopes Anyone compared a PA PLX-C 1-8 with a T6Xi 1-6?

Curious if anyone has time behind both of these optics. Similar specs overall (FFP, mil reticle, light-ish weight, swapable elevation turret). Similar street price.

Rifle Scopes Where Are We At With LPVO's

I get it, use the right tool for the job. But you're describing picking from an array of rifles for a specific predetermined purpose. If you have a carbine for multiple uses, or you're going into a blind match, the MPVO + dot covers 0-800 yards.

Sidearms & Scatterguns What pocket pistol to get?

I'd hazard a guess that any normal looking pair of jeans or slacks with waist sizes starting in 3 don't fit guns like a P365. I like the idea of pocket carry for office/professional settings, but I've never come across a pair of pants that would allow me to carry anything even as large as a...
