    A piggyback RDS also helps picking up distant targets when prone instead of hunting for it through the soda straw, regardless if you have a LPVO or higher magnification range scope.

    I have seen this and found that (for me), if I take off the rear cap on 1-6/1-8 optics that it is just as good with no caps (ie, front cap only). So on those I use an Aadland front and either no rear or a cheap Butler Creek (for storage only, I take it off when the rifle is in use).

    Wait a year for the new hotness and hope it doesn't disappoint...? No fracking way. Razor E is nice but I found it underwhelming compared to the PST Gen 2 1-6x24. Yeah it's better, but not twice the price better. I like the NX-8 but plenty don't. Really depends what you are shooting it...

    Rifle Scopes Selecting an LPVO to Replace a Red Dot -- Eye Box?

    I must be the odd man out, I prefer the Vortex PST Gen 2 1-6x24 to the Razor E, and sold a Razor E for the NX-8, which is great for what I want it to do. NX-8 has a tighter eyebox than either Vortex, but it's not tight by any stretch IMO.
