    Re: Best value for $ on 1911's I've got about $510 in my Rock Island Armory Tactical (including Hogue grips & DIY Duracoat). Very accurate and when lubed properly (a must with 1911's) it runs flawlessly. Don't overlook the lesser known gun makers when it comes to 1911's.

    Gunsmithing Did I screw up my 1911 duracoat job?

    I intended to mask the breech face of my 1911 prior to duracoat. I say "intended" because about 3/4 of the way into paint I realized I forgot and it is now FDE. I did remember to mask the feed ramp. Soooooo, how bad did I screw up? Any advice to fix it? 600 grit? Dremel? Stupid, stupid, stupid...

    I'm talking the new UMC TARGET...not the standard UMC. It is less expensive ($16.99/50) than anything but Russian stuff.
