    Don’t have a bravo, do have an X-ray. I loaded my .260 as long as the Accurate mag w/o plate would allow (2.95”ish?). Fed just fine in competition and in training.

    Yes. Once I was sure about my velocity I tweaked the ff for the 105 bthp to make it line up. The Hornady app is more accurate than ballistic ae in my experience. Dead on to 1000. Not bad at all for a free app using 20 cent bullets.

    And don't forget the "lights up sights up" adage. Bright light (i.e. Mirage) can cause low hits, on the order of 3-4 tenths in my experience. More specifically, the target appears lower than it is, so you shoot low. I didn't believe it til I experienced it at least three different times...

    No first hand experience, but I came here to parrot that I heard great things about the 7/300 wm from Paul McCoy at PMAC precision. May shoot him an email and get his perspective. It's what I'll build if I ever decide I have to have a long action magnum.

    Upon further reflection, I was working an edit to remove that as you guys were talking lol. I was at a match where a guy was having issues with 6 creed brass. Must be the exception, not the rule, as I hadn't run into it in person before.

    There's some truth to this, but I don't think "gamerism" is as widespread as this statement makes it sound. Solid fundamentals and solid dope carry the day, even against the heavy 6mms with 8-oz triggers. All you really need to do well is rifle, bipod, gamechanger, dope. That's a tight setup...

    Just something to stow in the back of your mind, the Berger 168 has a better bc than the sierra 175. Ought to be able to get good speed out of an 18-20 with Xbr8208 if you wanted to shoot a match or push the 1000+ mark.

    Best way I've seen it run is to allow two or three minutes after the entire squad has shot for everyone to police up at the same time. I've lost a handful this year at club events. Haven't shot a big one yet.

    Adjust the trigger guard and forearm to hold the mag more securely. Had the same issue way back with my X-ray. Mags won’t drop free, but they will work.

    Depending on your build, you may be able to move the scope forward a bit to eliminate the problem as well. That’s what I did for this same issue.

    Going back to factory/semi custom?

    I'm all for a tikka action...not sure you get much more by going custom. But a custom barrel and chambering job just brings a lot to the table. I put nearly 2000 rounds through my .260 CTR. It shot, and well, but the dasher barrel that replaced it....is all smiles. Don't think a factory gun...
