Rifle Scopes SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Just got the call today (credit card issue)...order 190700. Sweet Jeeeezus, it is finally on its way! I'm thinking it should be here by the weekend...which of course has now changed my weekend plans. I hope my arriving in-laws won't mind :p

Rifle Scopes Illuminated vs non-illuminated, SWFA SS HD 5-20x50 advice

I own both...trust me, you can absolutely get away with the non-illuminated. The illuminated is good, but not especially great. I use it sometimes (I think, just to 'use' it)

Are You Using The Same Hearing Protection For Both Handgun And Rifle Shooting?

Picked up a pair of MSA Sordin Supreme Pro-X's from Triad a few months back (the gel cups are a worthwhile upgrade!) They are like almost nothing...I almost forget I have them on. When shooting rifle indoors I use earplugs underneath them. For pistols or just being outside, I just stick to the...

Trigger for a cz 455 precision trainer?

Another YoDave here...remarkable what you can do for $20 and a little time. I have the 2nd 'heaviest' spring installed, and I've toyed with the idea of going to the next lightest. Frankly I'm not sure it needs it. I used a spacer (can't remember the color offhand, but it was mid-thickness) and I...

    MidwayUSA

I agree Midway has incredible shipping, but certainly at a cost. They get ragged on a bunch for it, but sometimes it is worth it for a hassle-free and expeditious transaction. I did hit my tipping point with them (which forced me to change my order) when I ordered 2 bore brushes, 2 jags, and a...

Tell me if this is a good starting point to figure out which charge weight is best.

jbailey--that is good advice. I think I should take a step back and take heed. I have a bad tendency to be in perpetual load development...for something that I'm going to be doing. Sometimes I may be guilty of not seeing the forest for the trees...

Your Thoughts On CCI Standard Velocity .22lr

Sadly, it doesn't seem to do well in my CZ455, especially at 100 yds. It isn't downright terrible, and the price is digestible...but I'm getting much better results with Wolf MT. I've sort of written it off as an ammo my rifle doesn't like, but hey I'd take any of it at this point!

Question about RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center.

I would look into the WFT trimmers, they are caliber-specific (which may not be too big a deal based on how many calibers you load). They index off the shoulder, and are super quick and easy to use. Tolerances are impressive--or have been for me at least. Price isn't too bad, about $65 each. I...

    what powder for .223/5.56

I've had good results with TAC and 55gr fmbts. Meters well. I save the Varget for 69 gr & 75 or 77 gr

168 & 175 Sierra Match Kings instock @ Powder Valley

Geez...lucky day. I picked up some 168s and noticed they had some .224 69gr SMKs as well, which had been perma- out. Clicked on the post, and 8 MNS later I dropped $260. I'm not sure I should have a credit card! PW is really air on price for shipping I wouldn't sweat it

Building a rifle, need trigger suggestion

No experience with the Jewell, but really enjoy the Timney. Note that if you are putting this in a Manners T5, it is not quite a drop in fit, some material must be removed. Let Manners know beforehand, and they will make the adjustment cleanly and for free.

    CZ Tacticool is here ...

That thing looks to be a hell of a value for $460. Absolutely check out the Yo Dave. About the best $18 and an hour of tinkering I've spent in this god-forsaken money suck of a hobby ;) Also, I am quite happy with the 25 MOA DIP rail...fit like a glove with zero issues. I ended up putting the...

Who has or will have 175 SMK's in stock?

Damn, I just checked Sinclair and it looks like they are now out. They popped up last week in stock and I freaked out and bought 500 immediately. I was telling my office mate 'Check this out...these will be out of stock in like an hour'. Yet, they were still in stock like 6 days later! Sinclair...

Tactical bolt knob for my CZ452 Varmint.

Me too...that damn puny knob is like a toy in my hands. Mine currently barely clears the upstroke with my scope, but I think a bigger knob would still work.

    Sniper’s Hide Cup Official 2013 Sniper's Hide Cup 5/23 - 5/25

I've seen some snippets of answers to some questions I've been wondering, but I thought I should come right out and ask directly. I suppose these are mostly directed at Frank, but anyone feel free to chime in. A buddy & me want to come up from Colorado, but wanted to know a few things: --How...

    Gempro 250 versus RCBS Chargemaster....

Re: Gempro 250 versus RCBS Chargemaster.... I cannot believe that I read this thread...and bought a Gempro 250. No doubt the Chargemaster is super convenient, but it does only get 'so close' (I check it against a 505). It really comes down to how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. I...

Rifle Scopes Help picking glass for my Tikka T3 Varmint

Re: Help picking glass for my Tikka T3 Varmint I have a SWFA 5-20X on my T3 Varmint, using Aadland medium rings. The fit is perfect and the performance and functionality is divine. But, if that isn't your cup o' tea...then yeah, the Vortex is the better choice of the two you list.
