Sidearms & Scatterguns Where has all the buckshot gone?

The PMC #4 buck from SG sold quick. I snagged a case yesterday, 49 available. This morning it was down to 11. I still have a 250 case of 00 I got from CTD a few years ago that was $60. Like the old saying, should have bought more. I don't shoot shotguns a lot, so I'm good for several years.

    224 Valkyrie build

I use a Shilen 6.5 twist. .875 dia 24" long, and it shoots the federal 90s great. It also loves the 95 grain SMKs with RL 17 or win 760. If it's a target gun, don't skimp on a barrel. I do use cheaper barrels for some hunting rifles and they hold minute of coyote easy enough, but they would...

    Side charging uppers?

I built a Grendel pistol with a Gibbz. Mine fits tight and shoots very well. No gap even on a cheap Anderson lower. No gas in the face and being able to retract the bolt and lock it with the same hand is nice. I'm thinking about buying another for a future build.

    .224 Valkarye Accuracy Experience

Both of mine shot great from the start. The first was a 24" 6.5 twist shilen and it loves federal GM 90s, the Hornady 88s were MOA on average, not what I call good. My best loads for the rifle is with 95 SMKs , Reloader 17 and Winchester 760. The group with RL 17 is six shots, after I chummed...

    Night Vision PVS 30

I'm not sure if the tubes were replaced or not. I've searched several forums, but couldn't find much info, other than reviews. I guess it really doesn't matter, I'll just use it, it's not like I would sell it because of low specs anyway. I mainly wanted it hoping for better PID than thermal...

    Night Vision PVS 30

Thanks. I'd guess since these are refurbs, the 1928 on my plate info was probably for the original unit specs, not after rebuild. im out of town working so I haven't put it in front of a day scope yet, but the image looks good the little bit I've checked it out after dark. Now I need a good...

    Night Vision PVS 30

Hey guys, I picked up a PVS 30 refurb. The paper work says 4.74 resolution, is that a good number? Also I think it's 1928 FOM if it's the four digit number on top of the scope. I've been searching several ways to find info on the location of the FOM digits, and what are considered good...

Night Vision Pulsar accolade XP50 LRF !

I bought a pair about a year ago, except mine are the 38s and I love them. The range finder works good also. No regrets.

    Ballistic Advantage barrels?

I have 2. The first was a 12" Hanson Grendel pistol. I put a nightforce BR scope on it to accuracy test, it usually wears a NX8 1-8., and it shoots well under 3/4" with hornady black 123s, and near 1/2" with federal 90 TNT factory loads, I couldn't ask for anything more for what it is. The last...

Night Vision Recommendations on Bump Helmets

i tried going cheap for a pvs14 helmet. Bought a air soft $45 from Amazon and it didn't fit my gord, I didnt have time to return it. Then I bought a better one, "higher price anyway"for $75 and it fit, but rubbed my skull and hurt my head. I finally spent $299 for a Wendy and it's very...

Night Vision Pulsar Thermion XP 50 review

No, just the standard 123 batteries. I may try the extended rechargeable battery pack next year, though I am getting pretty quick with the battery changes in the field. Plenty of practice lol.

    Night Vision Gen2+ WP scopes

It does help. I looked for the PVS4, but didn't see many for sale. A back up loaner rifle is what I'm going for also, I still like my Trijicon. Thanks for the tips guys.

    Night Vision Gen2+ WP scopes

Well after hearing your replies I'll play it safe and go Gen3. I'm Leary of used and EBay scopes. I may try one of the N760 or 790 series scopes, from what I've read, they seem to be solid. Work is trashing this winters coyote season now, so I'll keep reading and deceide what model scope to get...

    Night Vision Gen2+ WP scopes

What's the opinion on the gen 2+ scopes usable distance? I have a Trijicon Reap and a PVS14 gen3 pinnical tube that I'm very happy with, but was thinking about a night vision scope for a second rig. Will I be disappointed after using gen3 to the point I wasted $2000? I was trying to prevent...

Night Vision NV or Thermal for predator control, first time buyer

I'm still digging my pulsar accolade binos for scanning, they also have a pretty good laser rangefinder built in. They hang around the neck easy, not to heavy and have good battery life. I just got a gen 3 pvs14 with pinnical tube for navagation, liking it as well. I haven't had a chance to...

Rifle Scopes NX8 1-8 at distance and small targets

I have the same scope on a 6.5 Grendel. In the late 70s early 80s I used a weaver quick point sight on my slug gun for deer hunting. They had a large orange fiber optic powered dot. I used to sight in for point of impact at the top of the dot, this let me sight a little finer. Top of dot...
