    How many reload presses do you use?

    I have a rock chucker and a Sinclair copy I made. Seeing benefit in the area 419 press to help speed up the process by keeping the dies in position and would be able to make repeatable adjustments.

    Hoplite Arms

    Not ECM but I have a EDM gain twist that’s 1:100 to 1:20 twist on a factory S&W 460xvr (very accurate too). I imagine the tool consumption on EDM makes it undesirable for rifle length barrels.

    Talk me into or out of an auto trickler v3

    If BigBlastin plans on throwing big powder it would be worth the wait. Big sticks of slow powder (like n570) can have an issue bridging in the hopper. My best guess is the v4 fixes that issue.

    I’ve read that it is harder to get low es sd with heavy bullets in 223. I’ve had very limited experience with heavies in smaller calibers so I can’t confirm.

    Only one way to get to the bottom of this... Everyone send me your lapua brass, primers, powder and bullets and I’ll do a test to see if fresh ammo vs stored ammo have any effect on accuracy or ES. On second thought, send me loaded ammo too so I can compare.

    Could work. I used tbn to coat some bullets for my 6.5x47 and didn’t notice any change in sd until the bore seemed to get coated from the bullets and after about 15-20 rds the so dropped by 30% ish. I wonder if ammo makers have an advantage and also when using virgin brass that the neck has...

    I have a 6 creedmoor throated for 105’s that is too short for factory hornady 108’s. I grabbed a couple boxes of factory hornady and seated them deeper and the seating pressure was definitely different between the rounds. Not sure if factory ammo uses any lube or not but could tell a difference...

    Good info. I read somewhere else that if you anneal that it produces a small amount of carbon in the neck and also correlated to loaded ammo. I have never annealed so I can’t compare.

    What he said ^. I’ve been hooked on Eric Cortina and F-Class John’s YouTube channel and watching their reloading steps. F-Class John is as detailed as I’ve ever seen anyone and his ES on the shot marker at distance was 29 for 20 shots IIRC. With that being said his vertical is crazy small.

    If your ammo has been sitting for 2yrs you may want to seat the bullets another .005-.010 deeper to break any cold weld. Should help with more consistent bullet release.

    Has anyone played with the Wiebad Scope Jack?

    It’s used to align the bottom flat of the erector housing to the pic rail assuming you have a 1 piece rail. It’s not something you leave on the gun.

    V3 Auto Trickler issue

    Not much of a solution for the autothrower itself but you can find a scoop that will throw the bulk charge and put the pan on the scale and the trickler will work as usual and trickle to the set weight.

    I haven’t tested the limits of when the autothrower triggers but I have set the thrower to high and dump a little powder back in the trickler, place the partial charge back on the scale and it will trickle up to the set weight or if it overthrows by a little instead of dumping all of the powder...
