    How much better do you think it will shoot in the Hogue stock? I would think if all thinks where built properly the rifle should shoot better in your mcmillan stock. I know the a3g was bedded. Was the A5m xp? I always thought the rubber texture on the hogue would make a great all weather rifle.

    Looking for a 1,000 yard scope.

    Steiner, Leupold, vortex, nightforce, bushnell can all be had for $1500 new/used that you can shoot out to 1000 yards. First scope I hit 1000 yard target, I used a 4-16x50 steiner military. People do it all the time with 10x fixed scopes. Just need it to track reliably.

    Not sure what this one will end up as. A classic style hunting rifle, light weight rifle or a precision rifle. Looking at the old vintage sniper rifle section has given me the idea of dropping it into a mcmillan htg in urban camo.

    I'm being given a 700 ADL in 270. What should I do with it?

    I'd add a hinged bottom metal or dbm and have myself a nice hunting rifle. If it doesn't shoot well I'd true the action put on a new barrel with whatever caliber you want and have a nice hunting rifle. I'd also probably have the trigger tuned while I was at it with either option.

    Kifaru, mystery ranch, eberlestock is what I'd look at. Keep in mind these companies change designs often. What you saw a few years ago may not be available now.
