    Covid report from an MD

The opioid epidemic has two causes: 1) After generations of warnings of over-prescribing pain meds (effectively), we were told that pain is a vital sign and you would lose your credentials if you didn't treat it as the patient wanted (many of stuck it out and said "no"). This led to addicted...

    CT elected this...

She's been in that seat for decades. CT went from balanced budget and highest per capita income to highest per capita debt in a generation. It started with generous welfare benefits to its citizens being made mandatory to all regardless of length of residency by a liberal Supreme Court...

    Schooling in the US

We also spend a huge percent of funds on the top (Advanced Placement, usually with the best teachers for kids who could teach themselves) and on the bottom (Special Ed for kids who will always be dependent). If your kids are in the middle, they get ignored.

    Covid report from an MD

The site is left anti-capitalist. The MD is a formerly hard-core Democrat. If the gov lost them, how long can they hide their malfeasance? https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2023/09/im-doc-on-the-corruption-of-public-health-and-the-breakdown-of-medical-practice-in-the-us.html

    Zombie apocalypse in San Francisco.

Don't know why dealers mix fentanyl into other drugs. Doesn't do much for return business if you kill your customers. China ships it over here by the boatload ready made--no assembly required. Probably to undermine our society ( not that it needs much help). As a retired anesthesiologist, I can...

This is how much your representatives in DC love you

Problem is that everything is too big. We need small towns feeding into counties to state governments to the federal government with control from bottom to top. As it is now, the feds tell everyone else what to do and the lower levels are happy to abuse power.

Police drones may be over your next BBQ

"Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime." Lavrentiy Beria, the most ruthless and longest-serving secret police chief in Joseph Stalin’s reign of terror in Russia and Eastern Europe, bragged that he could prove criminal conduct on anyone, even the innocent.

TENNESSEE ALERT: Gavin Newsom is going to Nashville on Aug 26, 2023 to push failed California policies.

Better get used to it. Unless RFK, Jr. and Cornel West pull enough votes away from him, he will be the next president.

Anyone else had lingering effects after Covid?

No platform. I was straightforward with my patients at all times. I was a solo practitioner, so there was no risk to my career--I do agree about their being worse things. Of those who were concerned, some might have cared about not abandoning their patients.
