    I did not use a reaction rod, I just used a normal upper block clamped into a bench vise. I like the idea of the reaction rod but the price tag, given the amount of uppers I plan on assembling (maybe one or two) is cost prohibitive.

    I agree with this statement. I wear a 7 1/2 size hat, and I feel that the size of my melon is pushing the maximum comfort level for these. If you have a large dome I would try before you buy.

    I use MSA sordins with some custom molded solid plugs when shooting under cover. Really makes it pleasurable to shoot. But not like its ever NON pleasurable to shoot, but still.
