Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Given the very small amount of error, its clear that everybody was using USMC mils, also know as mils. And that is what everybody uses these days I think. I just wonder about the March given the consistent error across two scopes. It looks like bad calibration rather than bad manufacturing -...

Five days in hell, need to vent

Gotta live up to the name man. But i would chew the hell out of that kid, and then put her to work. rearrange the supply closet or something, and when she screws it up, make her redo. Pay her something too. Either she'll develop a work ethic, or she will clear out to avoid the work. Shamir

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

I'm still surprised by how badly the March scope did on this test. Given the 42 mm objective size, it was doing very well so far. Hey calz, just to be clear, you were using USMC mils, i.e., 3.43775 MoA to a mil? Did you confirm with the manufacturers that none of them were using Army mils...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Very much so. A lot of us Kahles owners were disappointed with how it performed on the optical performance test, but it seems to be emerging as one of the best overall scopes here. Shamir

Torn between two rifles for my first "real" bolt gun

Since when have you been a Tikka fan deadnbrkn84 ? I thought you were a custom action guy :-). But yes, couldn't agree more. I have a Tikka T3 Sporter in .260 that's in an X-ray stock, a T3 CTR in .308 on the way which will get put into an X-ray as well, and my next build will be a T3 in 6mm...

    Tikka T-3 CTR & X-ray chassis?

So I could use TRG magazines with my T3 in X-ray chassis? I tried the TRG mags when the T3 was in the orignal Sporter stock and they didnt fit. Of course that could have been the stock and not the action. Never thought to try them again after I switched to the X-ray chassis. I have a CTR on...

    Tikka T-3 CTR & X-ray chassis?

Does anyone know if the new T3 CTRs in the W3 or X-ray chassis would take AW magazines or TRG magazines? The AICS mags are nice, and far cheaper than the TRG magazine, but having double stack 10rd magazines would be nice too. The regular T3 doesn't allow AW magazines because of the shape of the...

    Tikka T-3 CTR & X-ray chassis?

I havent weighe it, but it feels lighter than the factory stock, so I am guessing 10 lbs max (excluding scope, rails, bipod, etc). I almost feel like its too light, and I might shoot better with a slightly heavier rig.

    Tikka T-3 CTR & X-ray chassis?

Its more expensive, but the Tikka Sporter in .260 and .308is an option as well. I have a .260 with a 24" barrel and its in an X-ray chassis. Works geeat.

Does anybody know a good gunsmith in the general UNSC or Portland area? I'd like to get the muzzle of my Tikka threaded and a brake put on, but don't want to necessarily ship it somewhere. I'd prefer somebody near Portland, but I'll be up at UNSC on Saturday, so I could drop it off near there as...

    Show your custom Tikkas!

Oh, I'm shooting a .260 Remington :-). The Tikka T3 Sporter is available in .260 and .308 here in the US. I already have a .308 so I went with the .260 on this one. I got a hit at 1307 yards at the Karstetter match a couple of weeks ago, so the gun can definitely shoot. I'd love to move to a...
