    Shooting schools

On Altus site it doesn’t list the level 1 in the prerequisites for level 2 so I wasn’t sure. It looks like an awesome facility for sure. It’s only 6 hours from me too. Thanks for the recommendations.

    Shooting schools

I’ve seen a bunch of their videos and they seem to do a great job. Obviously both are highly qualified to teach. I’m trying to figure out if I need to start at level 1 or 2 on whichever school I end up going to.

    Shooting schools

I’ll check them out. I’ve been on the announcement page but was looking for firsthand recommendations. Thanks for the reply.

    Shooting schools

Is there a list somewhere of the top long range shooting schools? I’m in the SE and am willing to travel overnight but prefer to drive.

    Rechambering/rebarreling older rifle

I have a 308 and have considered changing it over to a 6.5cm a lot. Main reason is the ballistic advantage. I’d like to get into some competitions and it’s clearly a better round for that I believe.

    Vertical stringers

I’m going to continue dry fire drill. I do have a little bastard brake on it and that’s helped spotting my shots. I’ve shot 1000 yard match once. I shot it with the same gun minus the brake and with a Zeiss 4-12x44 with a whole bunch of shims! Also had the factory hogue stock. Talk about...

    Vertical stringers

Definitely helpful. I’ve been dry firing some and have completely changed my shooting form. I used to shoot with a loose grip from the pocket but have moved to a firmer grip and shoot from the clavicle area. My left to right group has gotten better for sure. I figure the vertical stringing is...

    Vertical stringers

This is the only info I have on the bullet. The scope base and rings are tight.

    Vertical stringers

The front is a Caldwell Rock adjustable rest and the rear is a pretty firm rabbit ear leather bag with a flat bottom. The 400 yard target was bottom, middle and then top. The rifle is full floated and I kept checking it after each shot to make sure it still had clearance all the way to the...

    Vertical stringers

So I picked up some Ruag Swiss p the other day and wanted to see how it shot before ordering more. Had 1 1/2” group at 100 yards, .625 at 200 yards, 2” at 300 yards snd 3” at 400 yards. I noticed the rifle seemed to shoot higher as it heated up. I haven’t noticed this with reloads that I...

If you didint wanna brake the Bank on a Chassis or stock...

I have a Manners T4a and I really like it. I bedded it myself and it shoots as well as I do! I’ve had it a couple years and I believe it was $650ish and there was a 2 month wait on it. I wish I’d have gotten the mini chassis but I believe it’s a good bit more expensive. I’ve only shot 1 full...

    I have not.

    Hard to feed 308

Sand the inside lip at the top of the magazine? It definitely hasn’t been used much.

    Hard to feed 308

Thanks. I’ll take a look at some of those things this evening. I think flaring the mag will help. It seems like the problem is the bullet case dragging on the top of the magazine. I have not tried any others but might order a different make.

    Hard to feed 308

I’ve got a Rem 700 sps with Battle Arms Development detachable bottom metal. I’m using AICS 5 round mags. It’s just always seemed sticky when chambering a round out of the magazine. Anybody got any tips as how to improve this? It happens with factory loads or reloads if that matters.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Bushcraft Knives

This is my go to model for most tasks. I’m in the process of building a larger camp/bushcraft knife at the moment. I’ll post some pics when I finish it up. This is a great thread by the way!

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Handguns...show 'em

Here’s a Norinco 1911A1. I have thought about using it as a base for a custom build but it shoots very well as is. Not bad for $125!

Need a little help with a Colt upper receiver

I understand what you are saying. I am looking to put a scope on it to try shooting some long distance with it. I’ve shot out to 600 with the factory iron sights but wanted to see what it would do with a scope. I have all the factory parts as it is. I already have a short barrel for CQB that I...
