    Night Vision Safran TAD

Safran says it's normal. I asked them what causes it in the lower brightness settings. I believe it's likely that the PAS29B uses a PWM system to manage brightness, in which case this would be typical. The screen cap feature is pretty cool. Screen cap reviewed indoors and photographed.

    I'll ask about the flicker.

Which Oil Do You Use to Wet Mount Scopes

Lol! My main goal is just for the clamping surfaces to seat properly when torqued. Most any lubricant will suffice.

Which Oil Do You Use to Wet Mount Scopes

For reps, ja? All jokes aside, someone mentioned grease. I've always just put a little clp or whatever on the rail to make sure the clamps seat proper. Also, fun fact, 275# is equivalent to roughly 1.8 Honda H5 automatic transmissions.

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Sometimes, a tranny is just a tranny.

Thats what he said his expertise is in. Far be it from me to argue with a tranny SME.

    Scope height mythe

How high are we talking? I think what matters most is whatever height you run it, you the user are comfortable and consistent.

If I need my transmission rebuilt, I'll defer to him.

Is this the older unimount, or the current? Or the separate rings?

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Well, here he is over half a decade ago talking about Honda transmissions again trying to equate it to the topic at hand.

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

No, so I consult relevant engineers and or SMEs.

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Yes, and I mount my Nightforce scopes exactly how Nightforce recommended. Loctite the ring cap screws.

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Some dude is talking about transmissions. I'm talking about scope mounting. He does this in every thread about the topic. I don't care about how much money he made fixing busted Hondas. This is about scopes. Trying to find some esoteric bullshit like tranmission casings in an attempt to provd...

This may be, but they do agree on that one point. Lube the screws.

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Were comparing a transmission case removal for reman repair effort to ring cap screws, so why not?

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Lol, no, just like I'm not using honda transmission case bolts as a case study on how to tighten ring cap screws. I'm relying on KAC, Hakan, Geissele, and Nightforce for advice, there.

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

I prefer to get my data from the engineers at Geissele, Spuhr, etc as well as others, but some guy was talking about his job for Honda, so I tried to relate to him. My error there, as there really isn't much crossover. I'll stick with recs from KAC, Nightforce, Geissele, Spuhr, and others who...

    Night Vision Safran TAD

We will, but it'll be a while is my guess. One quirk I do note about ecoti, is that at very low brightness (auto turned off, manual less than 3, or auto on, moonless or overcast night in a valley or a dark room), there appears to be some low light monitor flicker to the text and image. Some...

Wet Mounting Scope Mounts - Where It All Started

Kahles tubes are pretty soft and thin in my experience, but is there a specific incident being referenced? I personally find Spuhr mounts heavy and prefer others. Perhaps then you can share, as I am curious, what Honda part involves screwing small (4-40 ish) steel bolts into anodized aluminum...
