    A 34mm Nightforce NX8 that is 1-6. Keep the FCDMx reticle. Keep everything the way it is, except light transmission/exit pupil change as a result of lowering the ratio to a 1:6 and making the tube larger. Should only add 1-2oz and would be well worth it.

    25!? That's insane. I run mine on 10 on full moon nights, and 4-6 on half or less moon.

    My sources say it's just a quick reprogram, similar to how they work on my car or how I update my PC BIOS. No physical issues are denoted. So basically a reflashing and verify. As you note, defining and correcting the flaws was the time suck.

    Got me curious, how does this reticle's illumination work, as there is no way for a fiber optic to reach it, as there is not a "post to the edge".

    Scope reconditioning

    I have an old one. Green illumination? I think 3-15. How good are these? I bought it when I was a teenager. I now use nightforce, kahles, etc but am curious if these were just good for their era, or good in the secret way of the Tasco Super Sniper 10x.

    I typically hand tighten all screws evenly, as in, just the torx bit in 2 fingers, just until the bolt seats. I will futz with things until equal, as measured by feelers. Once I know the gap, I remove the hardware, apply small amount of loctite 243 (check expiration date first!) to bolt (making...

    did i made an error while mounting this scope?

    I use feeler gauges, and one of mine has a left to right disparity of 0.004". I am still content with it, as neither ring gap is near "closed". The rest is mostly just OCD.

    Lapping Scope rings - I see mostly No but some Yes

    When you tighten rings, they compress the tube 0.006-0.012". If something is slightly, ever so slightly off, it literally won't matter, given how minutely off it actually could be, in a modern 1 piece mount. I've used multiple Reptilia, Badger, and nightforce mounts. No scopes I've ever pulled...
