What about a 28 nosler? Might get a little better life with slightly less barrel murdering?

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Thoughts? 9mm 1911

I'm guessing it is going to just be a range toy or match gun. Beyond that, if the requirements are what they are, then we can still make recommendations based on that. A 6" would be an excellent gun for playing at long range.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Thoughts? 9mm 1911

I've shot and seen my fair share of 9mm 1911s. If you want a 6" gun, I would be looking at a custom. Just go down in spring to make it less sluggish. All magazines are gonna be tough to load and unload. The dawson/metalform mags are probably your best bet. I would be thinking very long and...

    Range Report Hornady 6.5 120 ELD-M vs 140 ELD-M vs 147 ELD-M for newbie PRS guy?

OP- I was going through this same mental gymnastics last week. Running the 120s vs 130 vs 140 vs 147.... I needed to buy bullets while they were on sale at Cabela's but didn't have any idea what I was doing. The lighter bullets were less drop but more wind, blah blah... same thing as you only...

    Muzzle Break Cleaning question.

If you can protect your crown, or preferably remove it easily, a sandblaster makes short work of it. Pretty hot ticket for pistols at least.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Pistol Break In Proceedure

Yep, that right there. I've seen it more times than I can count in USPSA. Fancy custom 2011s that won't run for shit, then they try someone else's tuned mags or their ammo and all the sudden the sun comes out and starts shining hahaha.

He is saying 99% of failures are caused by ammo or mags. Which I completely agree with.

    300 win mag? .338 lapua? ... Bergara?

Stocky's sells the OEM chassis that comes on the Howa HCR, available for all 3 action lengths. 500 bucks, then you add the buffer tube and stock you want. Could be another option.

How can I tell if I hit a steel target 800-1000yds away?

6.5 creed. Off a bipod and rear bag. Doesn't move much at all.

How can I tell if I hit a steel target 800-1000yds away?

I generally try to, yes. My scope doesn't have an adjustable parallax knob so I wonder if it isn't as clear as it could be at certain ranges.

How can I tell if I hit a steel target 800-1000yds away?

Thanks for the insight dudes. I can manage recoil well enough at this point I would say to be able to be back on target before a hit by 300 yards. So at long range I am looking at the target and often can't tell if it is a hit or not. Up to about 600 I can usually see the splash on the ground...

How can I tell if I hit a steel target 800-1000yds away?

I with you haha. I do have a question for you though, back on the ACTUAL topic. Question below. I really struggle being able to spot impacts on steel, or my misses. I also can NEVER hear my impacts, whether at 600 or 1000+. I don't know if it is the wind, or that I am just too good at putting...

    Hunting & Fishing Fly Anglers?

Huge fly fisherman, though I will use any gear available! Some days I feel like a fishing God and other days I feel like a total gaper. But regardless of the catching, just being on the water is the important part. I live in Bend, Oregon now after growing up in the Willamette Valley, so tons of...

Interesting take on ELR matches: Mark and Sam

I certainly wouldn't do it like that. But in the Rampage example, it used to be a Sunday event but was moved to Saturday so that if weather was bad there was a backup day. The same thing could be done here, where by opting out of your slot you are committing to the backup slot regardless of...
