Vudoo V22 action vs Zermatt Arms RIMX

Does anyone know about the firing pin/striker arrangement on the RimX ?? Hopefully it's not like the Bergara, with a striker hitting a separate firing pin. If so, this effectively almost doubles the lock time compared to a true striker, like a Rem 700/Anschutz/Vudoo/etc. And slow lock time is...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

I think something smaller, like the 5.7x28 (and a .17, 20 cal and 6mm version) would be cooler. It would probably fit in the existing 22 Magnum sized action and the mags would probably even work, he'd just have to move the FP down a little to the center. Most .22LR suppressors are even rated...

What bolt are you running? Standard AR bbl extension or big one like Oly WSSM?

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Shawn, I have the B&A in your pic on my V22, it's set on 4 oz first stage and 4 oz 2nd, I love it. I had to get a different height sear. Mine has the safety. I also have some Anschutz trigger shoes for it, but actually like the B&A trigger turned around backwards, I think it will adjust down...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

A trigger hangar is usually an adapter (alum. or steel) that mounts between an action and the trigger ass'y....usually used to adapt a trigger from a different gun (like an Anschutz) to the parent gun (like a Rem 700). They can also be used to adjust the timing of the trigger...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

Shawn, I know where you're coming from, I have a pretty complete shop (lathe, mill, etc, etc). I made a 40x into a repeater way back in 2009...before it was cool, LOL! Just wanted you to know that it wouldn't be a simple spring change, most don't have your skills!

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

Shawn, The Bergara will require a much stronger striker spring with the spring loaded 2 piece FP arrangement. It has to hit hard enough to overcome both the inertia of a stopped firing pin AND the spring holding it back. Slows things way down and has to be compensated for with higher spring...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

At 400 yards, my groups are 4 to 5" wide and 10 to 12" tall (in perfect conditions)...This is from velocity variations in the same lot of ammo. For details on what you are looking for, read this thread.... http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/200-yards-with-rimfire.6928541/ If you mean...

What’s your idea of the perfect Rimfire optic?

99% sure it will be 10 yards/meters (the sample at SHOT last year was).

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Mike, you mentioned you could do a v 1.2 conversion on our older V22 bolts. Mine shoots so good now that I don't see anyway it could shoot "better", as the gun will shoot better than the current ammo available (or me...LOL!) So as to any advantage to me personally......will the conversion...

Vudoo Lightweight Carbon Fiber barrel and stock build

Wow! Great write up with lots of good info. I plan to do a similar build. I haven't seen the weights on the new billet mags, I hope the 5 round is as light as the plastic mag, but I don't see how. I built mine with the 10 lb 2 oz limit in mind, and I am very close. I have a mill and will...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

I'm confused and can't tell for sure by looking at the pics, but does this gun have a SEPARATE firing pin from the striker assembly?? The striker ass'y looks very short and I don't see a pointy firing pin sticking out the front.... EDIT: After re-reading your post, I see that the firing pin...

What’s your idea of the perfect Rimfire optic?

I want a do-it all .22.......I shoot bench, NRL22, local matches, Silhouette (must stay under 10 lb 2oz) and hunting, I add removable weights when needed (bench and NRL). The following is non-negotiable to me on a .22LR scope (price is not considered).....25m parallax (10 is better), FFP...

    Cold Bore - possible cause

The Vudoo (Ace bbl) looks very smooth compared to all my other factory bbl's, all my other customs are centerfire, and the Ace bbl is comparable to Bartlein and Kreiger. I no longer have the Annie or 40X, and did not have a bore scope at the time.

    Cold Bore - possible cause

My Vudoo has none that I can discern shooting RWS R50, but I haven't shot it under 50 deg. or so for groups. If I scrub it to bare metal, then it takes about 3-4 shots to settle in, but none are out more than 1/4-3/8" at 50 yd. My Anschutz 64 needed about 5 shots to settle in (out 1/2" or so...

    Semi-auto 6.5x55

If you only want to shoot short loaded rounds (2.80" -2.87" ...with certain metal mags) you may make an AR10 sized platform work, this would be the easiest and the cheapest.....You'd have to find the right gunsmith and he may not want to guarantee function as the larger case diameter MAY or MAY...

    Semi-auto 6.5x55

So you already have a 6.5x55 AR10 platform?

    Semi-auto 6.5x55

Doesn't the Swede case also have a slightly larger diameter case head (.480 or so???). That may or may not cause issues with the AR10 bolt, you may have to get a gunsmith to slightly open up the bolt face, also. No big deal, just something else to consider.

Rifle Scopes Nightforce 7-35 atacr vs 4-32 nx8

If you like the ATACR 7-35, I think the NX8 4-32 is very, very close for a lot less money...enough that I would never buy an ATACR after comparing them side by side over many days in differing conditions. Only real optical difference I can see is the NX8 has a very slight fish eye around the...
