    260 Rem Brass Issues

If you happen to have any access to x-ray equipment you could just take a quick scan of all your cases to see if any have signs of case had separation internally

    260 Rem Brass Issues

Oversizing on hot loads will cost case of separation is easy I think you found your answer If you find your other case like that I would probably either scrap them and start over and chalk it up as a lesson learned or monitor them very carefully And a future you just need to make sure...

    260 Rem Brass Issues

First A case head separation is a permanent loss of that piece of brass. Period. No coming back to it. Second, are you sure it’s once fired? Case head separation is unusual at once or second fired unless something was seriously hot but you’re not mentioning popped primers, swipes, ejc. Marks...

308 Alpha brass - small vs large primer

Just scored first in my class this past weekend shooting 600 FT-R Used alpha SRP. Had a hot load.. but my alpha brass shot very very well. I just neck turned to skim .001/.0015 off the necks and backed my charge down a hair

Do I need to neck turn?

I strongly suggest you neck turn. You want a minimum of 2 thousandths clearance , 3-4 preferred. I can neck turn your cases if you want, PM me if you want to set something up

Load development and barrel speeding up

Why not just verify if it’s good if it does speed up? If it worsens for whatever reason just back down the charge. If that doesn’t fix it you probably weren’t in a dialed in node

Primer seating depth effects on velocity spreads

You’re struggling with high ES and SD because you didn’t properly develop a load for your system. Primer seat depth doesn’t have a major effect to what you’re seeing. Do proper load development and those numbers will shrink. I suggest you lay out your procedure in depth so we can tweak your...

Bore sighted rifle for ladder test

Use factory ammo to get on paper at 100, take tour ladder loads to 300. A splatter target the size of a sheet of paper (8.5x11) is sufficient enough for a ladder. Aim at the top 1/3 of paper center mass and you should be hitting near bottom of target. only thing you can do better is...

20 inch 300wm yay or nay

If you’re gonna go 20” I’d suggest using H4831 or IMR4831 and at least a 178 eld-x. I’ve had great results with that

Have not kept track of # of Rounds thru the Brass...

Send them off to killshot to get annealed. https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/forum/...for-sh-members you can keep reloading for it as long as primer pockets are good, no signs of case head separation (google image it so you know what to look for) and cracks anywhere on the body. Get them...

    7.62 vs. .308 Brass

7.62 brass is going to be thicker slightly and internal capacity is lower but it’s negligible. for 308 I like to use FC mil once fired. Just need to prep and neck turn then you’re good to go.

    300 WM Hornady 208 ELD-M & 212 ELD X's, Jump or jam, RL26 data?

With a 26” Barrel I suggest nothing slower than H1000. Also so I suggest starting out at a minimum 20 thousandths jump (if your magazine feeding make sure you can feed this length reliably or else you should be doing max mag length minus 10 thousandths). do load development then seat deeper...
