Cutting barrel to 16"-18" from 26" and twist rate for 6.5 Creedmore

Sounds like figured out what you want, have fun putting it together. I’ll bet it don’t suck...

Cutting barrel to 16"-18" from 26" and twist rate for 6.5 Creedmore

If I’m understanding correctly, the OPs primary purpose for this rifle is hunting ranches in Texas. For these hunting puroses, out of box blinds or at targets of opportunity out of vehicles, I can tell you anything longer than 24” overall barrel length including the can is sub optimal. It’s just...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I like that stock paint job, I’m about to do a blued t3x lite 223 myself so I may copy your color scheme... I have a McMillan Game hunter edge on my CTR with 17” barrel. I like the look and feel of it, that rifle is about 10.5# all up with a can now in that stock. I like the high non adjustable...

White Oak SPR barrel sale - 9/19

The email they sent out said backorders will be honored and fulfilled within a couple weeks. I guess I better pick one up. Fluting only shaves 5-6 oz, I’m leaning non fluted. If I pick up a mid gas, anyone know how it’d work if I had it chopped to 16” and rethreaded 5/8” to run suppressed...

Actions that accept DIY barrel changes (Savage, Rem-age, etc)? and question about Tikka barrel swap

So the bugnut for Tikka is limited to savage contours? Or can Greg use any normal contour like with bugnuts for Remingtons etc ?

    What's your favorite AR barrel.

Yes he should. Im fairly sure there are lots Benchmark, Shilen and Lilja tubes fitted to custom bolt guns as well. Not to mention a few others

    Tikka T3 Thread

I’ve not seen mention of it, but I’d want one if so. I’m half thinking of making my own with my t3 lite 243 and a prefit barrel. Supppsedly they are going to import a 223 CTR though

    Ballistic Advantage barrels?

I’ve noticed the same thing, not too many mentions of BHW barrels anymore. I’ve had a couple in the past that were fine. I think they were pretty popular for a couple of their wildcat chamberings, the 243lbc and 6x6.8. I think some bad 6x6.8 barrels got some attention a year or two back over at...

Pew pew: 1st post, 6.5g barrel question

I bought a 16” Grendel barrel from Craddock Precision. They’d make you one 14.5” also if you want. It’s a criterion blank, SS, mid length, I sent my bolt in so they could verify headspace when chambering it. It took about a month to make. Still in the safe as I haven’t had time to put this...

    Tikka ejection issues

I put an ss 3-15 on my CTR in seekins lows. About every other ejected case fell back into the action. As mentioned above windage knob deflection can happen with low rings and tacticool scopes I went to a Bushnell LRHS instead of higher rings, not sure if mediums would’ve cured it and I don’t...

    tikka in xlr chassis

The t3 lite can be chopped and threaded 1/2"x28, which is what I did with mine. Not enough meat for 5/8" threads. I also have a t3x Varmint 223. This model has plenty of barrel girth for 5/8" threads and wouldn't be way heavy chopped at 16.5" when paired with the right stock and scope. Might...

    Anyone running a 6-6.8spc?

I had one for a while, it was an impressive little cartridge. I used Ch4D dies, hornady brass, mostly ran Sierra 85 GK hpbts, good for coyotes up to whitetail doe for me. If you want more info Predatormasters forum is the place to go. I don't go there much anymore but I know I remember seeing...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I see my covered suppressor at 3-4X thru my Bushnell LRHS 3-12 in Seekins lows. I'm not thrilled about it but I'll opt to live with it over mounting the scope higher.

Gunsmithing Would like to convert my Tikka T3 to a 223 AI

I did just that to my T3x varmint, along with a chop to 20" and thread 5/8x24 for a can. my gunsmith recommended .090" freebore for my uses, he did set the barrel back a thread or so. My hope is that I gain back enough velocity from the increased case capacity to compensate for the shorter...

    XLR Element vs Mcree G10

I definitely thought the XLR cheek piece is comfortable. Sounds like I can get a grip I'll like on either chassis. This would be for my Tikka CTR. So I can go with the XLR and use Accurate mags or go with the Mcree and use my CTR mags, I already have 2 of those. Cost wise it's close, the XLR...

    XLR Element vs Mcree G10

I've handled an element and liked it, but haven't seen a G10 up close. I'm mainly wondering about the grip angle on the G10 vs. the element. It appears to me (judging by pictures) that the g10's grip is slightly more swept back. I would favor the more vertical of the two if there's a difference...

    New Tikka T3X CTR...non 1" moa

The previous posts have pretty much covered it: the pressure point in the stock that's stopping your dollar bill is supposed to be there. All the t3's I've had (8 now) have them. Removing may tighten up groups but more likely would just reduce fliers. I'll bet that's not what's causing 3"...
