Chassis options for Surgeon 1581 XL Action

So is the CIP length AICS legacy chassis a no go with this action or can it be done with modification?

    Defiance Deviant vs Rebel

Thanks all for the input. Sounds like the real advantage to the deviant over the rebel is when planning a switch barrel setup. I spoke with the guys at Defiance today and they informed me that their .750 bolts can be had with magnum and .308 bolt faces as well as lapua. Sounds like a very...

    Defiance Deviant vs Rebel

I'm planning a new 300wm build and have decided to go with a Defiance but not sure which action. Please help me make up my mind. I plan on sticking this in a manners TF4 possibly with a mini chassis so I can try out my Stiller Tac 300 in it as well.

First Look, the Accuracy International AX338MC

I'm with you here. I've played around with AI's different chassis systems and could not get used to the ergos of the AX. I would be willing to pay more or the AT if I could switch to 300 and 338 as well.

Official Accuracy International AT First Look

Thanks for the info guys. That's the best news I've heard all week.

Official Accuracy International AT First Look

Any chance the AT will be available with thumbhole skins? I don't care for the pistol grip.

    On the POF E^2 design...

I did this and it remedied my problem for a while. The problem is, as soon as gets a few hundred rounds through it, it starts again until I clean it. Kind of defeats the point in having a piston driven gun. I've shot my other D.I. and piston guns suppressed well over hundreds of rounds...

    On the POF E^2 design...

Do they plan on retro fitting any Gen 3s with the E2 chamber? I have a P-308 does not eject reliably for shit. I can guarantee a few malfunctions per mag with it. On most ARs this new chamber would be unnecessary. With the tight ass chambers on the POF, I can see how this would be a fix for...

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

My question was of rhetorical nature. You called Walter out for saying that his E-filed form four only took 4 months. This is consistent with what others who have E-filed are reporting. So you must have not read his post entirely and are jumping to conclusions because you are comparing apples...

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

What took yours so long? I mailed two in first week of January 2013 and had them approved in September 2013. Nine months to the day.

Rifle Scopes Mark 4 Leupolds - Pick one.....

I would prolly go with the later option as well for a bolt gun. It's the only one that has turrets that match the reticle. Option one is a very nice setup for ARs.

Need more to go on to make a recommendation. Type of rifle? Range?

LMT CQB MRP 5.56 vs. Noveske Afghan VIS/Switchblock

Mark at Short Action Customs did mine. Last I talked to him, he stated that he is only working on bolt guns right now though.

    7.62 Modern Battle Rifle Experiences?

If quality control and CS are important to you then you should rule out the POF. They should re brand to POS!!!

    Another thumbs up for Scott.

LMT CQB MRP 5.56 vs. Noveske Afghan VIS/Switchblock

I have had both and like the LMT better. I was very disappointed with he VIS system. barrel changes with it are a pain in the ass, much more so than a standard upper configuration. That been said, I love my Noveske stainless barrels. I actually had a few converted to fit my MRP chassis. I...

Rifle Scopes what would you get for first high end scope...

Even though it is a little over your stated budget, I would consider the Nightforce F1. I have the IOR 3.5-15x50 as well as Nightforce. Both are great scopes but I prefer the turrets on the Nightforce. I would also give the Nightforce glass a slight edge in low light capabilities. The only...

Rifle Scopes Hard use Recce carbine optic...stumped.

Something to think about, in a lower magnification range with an FFP, the reticle subtentions will be unusable if you can see them at all. It has always seemed like a waist to offer an FFP scope in this magnification range.

    Rifle Scopes ATACR or NXS

Either optic will fill your needs on your 300wm. I'd lean towards the ATACR for the extra magnification and elevation travel though. You should be able to pick up a used one here for not much more than the cost of a new NXS.

    Rifle Scopes ATACR or NXS

If you are debating between a 56mm NXS or ATACR, I would go with the ATACR as it will actually be shorter in overall length. Also, you didn't mention what type of rifle and or use this optic is for. I will try to snap a pic of my 3.5-15X50 later
