    Building a "precision" hunting rifle

    I'm kinda opposite of you. I use a 16" 6.5 Creedmoor for Texas deer. But same as you I'm not a fan of normal hunting rifle ergonomics. I solved my problem by putting a Tikka T3X CTR in a KRG Bravo. Chopped the barrel to 16" and added a TBAC Ultra 7 G2. Love that rifle.

    AR10 optic suggestions

    For what it's worth. I put a NX8 2-20 on my 16" Noveske. Good optic and I like it. But I think a 1-8 or 1-10 would've been better. I might flip the NX8 for a 1-8 here soon.

    I get it. Just for carrying stuff I think the 4" is easier all around. Just got a 66-2. 2.5 inch barrel, the wife has claimed that one.
