    Anybody a small engines guru?

I'm with Hilton... these engines are notorious for air leaks. Take a can of brake cleaner or starting fluid and spray it around each of the carb boots (away from the air cleaner). If the engine suddenly rev's up, you found your leak. Could be base gaskets too.

For those of you who don't yet understand this whole "vaccination" scare is just about Government tyrany

My wife watches Madam Secretary (which means I watch it too...). A couple episodes ago it was all about superstorms due to global warming, and "climate refugees" needing new homes... then they straight up blamed the US for industrializing, carbon emissions, and causing global warming. I almost...

Gunsmithing Best way to drill large holes in steel

Plasma or a Torch can get you pretty decent holes, but if you're worried about positional accuracy, you'll need a CNC machine like a laser or plasma table... Beyond that, you'd be amazed what quality hole saws/fly cutters can do...

    Lost my lab today...

"Everyone thinks they have the best dog... and none of them are wrong." W. R. Purche So sorry Nooch. There's not much tougher than dealing with the loss of a best friend. Hopefully you find peace and love in another dog to fill Gator's role in the family. My wife and I started a dog rescue a...

K-Bars What Knife is in your pocket right now?

Benchmade 940-1 in S90V... The steel is stupid hard. Tough to sharpen, and never gets as razor sharp as some other steels, but it holds a good edge a LONG time. Only thing that will really cut it is a diamond stone. I just love how light and slim it is... With a deep carry clip, it disappears...

Gunsmithing TIG welder for gun work

I have a Miller Dynasty 280... Absolutely the best TIG welder I've run for its size. Everything from fine detail work to multi-pass structural welding. It's great for aluminum work too.

    2017 Ram 2500 thoughts

Typical responses here, same as any pickup truck thread, or muscle car thread, or tractor thread... My brand is the best, and everything else sucks. I owned this and it was shit, but this new one is perfect... Why does anyone even post something like this anymore? You know exactly what you're...

    2017 Ram 2500 thoughts

If anyone wants to claim one brand is less of a government sucker than another, they're no smarter than a rock... Disagree? How many of them build a new plant anywhere without millions of dollars in tax incentives? ZERO, so STFU about some bailout (I don't agree with it one bit, btw, but all of...

Like Fig said, always have a backup... If the threat isn't down after emptying a mag or two, I'm probably f*cked anyways, but I'm not going down without a fight... whether that's the butt of my pistol, or the blade in my pocket. I'm not I want to know what theoretical situation you expect to...

IDK of any situation where I'll need my EDC to get me back to my rifle... outside of SHTF apocalyptic type scenario. This isn't Ramadi, or Kabul... and I don't intend to keep fighting after the threat is nuetralized...

Pretty sure many of the top shooters in the country are shooting 9mm in competition... Lower recoil and higher magazine capacity makes it a competitive advantage. For CC, I personally don't think it matters if you're competent with either... I'm not relying on 1 round for defense, even if I'm...

Maggie’s The Woodchuck and Firewood Hoarders Thread

Yeah, air splits pretty easy! Haha. Willow is one of those woods I don't even bother with... Half the time the grain is so twisted it doesn't split straight anyway, and it doesn't stack worth a darn... Plus it has such little heat value, I wouldn't bother cutting or splitting it unless it was...

Ambrosia Maple... which is really any species of Maple that's been infested by Ambrosia beetles. They leave a fungus in the tree (their feces technically grows it), which discolors the wood and leaves the discoloration, which most people find decorative. Some of the wood will have bore holes...

    New pickup opinions

3.0L, not a 3-cyl... Its a VM Motori engine, split ownership between FCA and GM. I wouldn't recommend a diesel in a half ton ever, other than if you do a TON of highway miles, or tow moderate loads all the time (in those cases, the diesel has advantages). However, those engines have been around...

Maggie’s The Woodchuck and Firewood Hoarders Thread

In order of durability, in my experience: Cannon/Stihl/Sugihara (tie) Windsor/Carlton & WoodlandPro (tie) (WP bars are actually made by Cannon, or used to be at least, but the sprocket tips use a different bearing and sprocket, which doesn't last as long for me) Oregon/Echo/Husqvarna, etc (all...

Other thing you could do is just take those 20" chains to a good saw shop (any saw shop really), and have them break/spin them down to 18"... It's just a matter of pulling 4-6 drive links. I got tired of buying loops, so I bought a breaker/spinner. Amazing how much less chain I waste.
