    Funny thing is my grandsons 350 is 5/8-24, just the way I threaded it . I didn't say 1/2-28 threads were the way to go just making a point some factory guns come with 1/2-28 threads so the wall thickness must be safe.

    All 350 Legends come threaded 1/2-28 and that's a .355 bore so I wouldn't think doing a 1/2-28 on a .243 would hurt anything other than not matching the adapters that come with bigger bore cans .

    Your 350 legend should have a 1 in 16 twist if the upper is factory . We put ten twist barrels on our bolt guns and shoot factory subsonic ammo suppressed . I wish there was subsonic reloading data out there for cheap 9mm bullets.

    Was going to reply the same procedure the only difference is to run the tape the length of the barrel so there's no tape lines.

    If you figured all that out chambering should be easy for you . I started out on some cheap green mountain blanks first and still shoot a 7 twist 22-250 I built . I believe bsalbrig was saying there are other ways to thread short barrels like between centers or with a steady rest .

    I would buy Remingtons new 223 with a 8 twist barrel and sell the stock/ BDL mag . With the hundred bucks you will get from the take off hardware buy a KRG stock and Arca rail. The barrel is 26" have it cut to your length and threaded.
