    I have the L shaped 136 by Starrett that works well but has to held on narrow surfaces . Wonder if your 135A is a knock off ? I need to get a straight one like that to replace an old Stanley I'm using now.

    My first lathe was a worn clapped out Sheldon lathe bought from a friend . It worked built a many nice shooting rifles . Looked around for something nicer American made nothing was in my price range unless it was beat to shit . Bit the bullet ordered a PM1440GT after looking at the reviews .

    Got the barrel threaded tonight using the nose of the barrel worked great . Youndering's suggestion is what I had to do that relief cut in the female threads wasn't deep enough to clear . Having .800 in threads looks strange but no one will see them now . Thanks for the replies !

    I bought a stock inletted for Hawkins bottom metal but don't have one here will the PTG work in that opening ? The PTG metal I have here drops in but seems to be low in the inlet ? Has anyone mixed the two or are they totally different ?
