Stock Upgrade Questions on a Tikka CTR

I don't understand the bad reviews of BC stocks. There are plenty of good reviews about their stocks and I personally own a 308 with a BC tactical stock on it. I've found their stocks to be strong, durable, and accurate with the aluminum bedding block, especially for the price. I'm not saying...

Remington 700 Long Range bullet Choice

I can only help you on the scope. You're thinking of a Vortex (brand) Viper (series) of scopes. Vortex is a great company and they make great products. Depending on your budget i'd recommend the viper hs-t or hs. At the very least, make sure you get a scope with matching reticle and turrets (MOA...

Stealth BDM fit rem 700 BDL?

the m5 will not fit a regular bdl inlet. it is too wide so it requires some more substantial inletting. usually people just send the stock and bm to a smith

Is this a good buy for the price???

ask him who did the "tuning". Who trued the action and chambered the barrel? The price is a a bit under what it would normally cost to get that set up. If the barreled action is done by a quality smith, it'd be tough to find one under $1200. Just the parts + chambering the barrel rem 700...

The weight is nothing new, AIs have always been a little heavy. They are built a certain way to serve a specific purpose.

who cares who makes the barrel? they both shoot really frickin good. LW, Borders, or Bartleins. I had an ae mkiii myself with a lw barrel and it was an absolute laser with any 308 match ammo. I can't wait for the AT!!!

    18.5 or 20" barrel delima

if 500y is the farthest u shoot then it doesn't matter which one you go with. I've only ever had 20" 308s and they are plenty compact. My suggestion, try 20", if u think it is too long, then cut it to 18.5"

Rifle Scopes decision made! ss hd 5-20x50 or steiner tactical 4-16x50

I've not used the Steiner although i hear good things about them. I had a SS 5-20 for about a year and half and put about 2000 rounds through it, both easy range use and field shooting. I thought it was great. I used the turrets a lot and checked its tracking frequently and it was always spot...

Opinions: Tikka T3 Lite vs T3 Superlite fluted.

do you want to hunt with it? generally light weight rifles with thin barrels dont work too well for LR shooting becasue the barrels heat up too fast and the stocks are uncomfortable in most positions. 308 is a good caliber to start with, so are the 260 and 6.5 creedmore
