Firearms WTS: Remington 700 Sendero 300wm blued-fluted bbl (1st gen.)

I have an excellent condition first generation Remington 700 Sendero 300 win mag w/ a fluted barrel. C prefix action with a Barrel date code AO (March 1994). I bought it for my collection and shot about 60 rounds through it. It was unfired when I bought it. It was well taken care of and has...

Gunsmithing Remington M700 RR s/n truing

I think you're absolutely correct on this. I am curious, and maybe a smith or two can chime in, how square are all the surfaces on Howa and Tikka actions? I have or have had both and they are smoother actions and always shoot very well. Tikka and Howa actions and bolts always look smoother with...

Gunsmithing Remington M700 RR s/n truing

RR prefix began when Freedom Group acquired Remington in about 2007, which is when QA/QC went downhill for Remington. the RR actions are known to have QA/QC issues, one of the most common problems is the primary extraction, as you've experienced.

    Remington 700 “G” Prefix

Yeah the PE on the RR actions is a common issue. I think a gunsmith or two have discussed it in orther threads. There's also youtube videos about it.

    Remington 700 “G” Prefix

G prefix immediately preceded the RR prefix actions of the Freedom Group days. The Freedom Group RR prefix actions are suffered from more QC issues and overall reduction in quality. Generally G prefix and earlier series actions were better quality. Freedom Group no longer owns Remington after...

    243 help

copper creek makes some 243 match loads, but its also $50 per box Hornady has their ELD-X ammo, its a 90 grain bullet though. That's probably the closest factory match option

    Training rig for prs

Yeah, a good option would be to have a 223 barrel spun or prefit for the Origin. Just rock the 223 and prior to the matches swap to your 6cm and maybe confirm your zero prior to attending the match. I use 223 and 22lr for training, as do many others. I have a lighter profile barrel on my 223...

Scope for a M40a1 look alike.

Those little 10x Bushnell 3200s are nice for the money. That scope should be plenty durable. I believe those were made in Japan and are very similar to the Weaver 3-10x40 tactical that is also made in Japan, and quite robust for the price. For modern straight 10x scopes, that SWFA HD that...

Scope for a M40a1 look alike.

A good alternative to the Unertl for an M40A1 is the original Weaver T-10 made in El Paso, TX models. These scopes were used on M40A1s and are around $300 in today's market. I have one and it is a good scope, good tracking, glass is good for its age (1980s), and its all steel.

Advanced Marksmanship AI AW 308 factory set up shooting sierra 175smk - running out of elevation at 1k

What is the muzzle velocity are your 175 smk rounds? Typical factory match loads for that bullet are about 2600 feet per second which would put the drop around 38 moa at 1000yds.

    Bolt Action Trainer Recommendation

A lot of guys use 223 as a trainer, myself included. Maybe a remnignton 700 in 223 using your hospitaler stock would be a good way to get the same feel
