Gunsmithing second hand bedded stocks, worth it or not?

I'd buy a used one, grind some bedding out, rebed it with a skimcoat of Devcon. Save $... I just put together a .223 mid-range rifle in a Stockade stock that was bedded by the previous owner, it will stack them tight. I will not rebed if it shoots 600 as good as it does 200.

Range Report 6mm Competition Match S/A Non Mag 105Hybrids @3300+

When I first put my 6CM (Competiton Match ) on paper at 1000 yards, my group was 6.5" tall, windage was less. I was running a 115DTAC @3225 fps. I reduced the load instead of going higher, don't know why, just did. I took 3ths of a grain out. Group went to under 4.5", first a 5 shot, then a 10...

Gunsmithing Pillar Bedding a Savage McMillan Stock, Completed

Good job on the pillars and the bedding job. I just saw this thread, my buddy and I did mine a year ago. This after CDI inletted it for his bottom metal and then you really see how bad it needs them. I don't know why McMillan can't put pillars in these stocks for Savage like they do for others.

    Choate stock

I do not own one, but have handled a few. This is what I know about them, durable, strong, heavy, and at that price you can't beat the valu. I like my B&C Medalist A-2 better, it's lighter and strong.
