    We live out in the sticks, way out. We can go months without bought power no problem. We have some hillbilly neighbors, country neighbor so like 2 miles as the crow flies that still have no power or running water.

    I have Kuiu Attack pants and Guide Jacket. Both have held up well over the years. I hunt Illinois from October through February in these along with layers and Colorado and Montana too. I have several clothing pieces from them, been happy with everything.

    Never heard of lardons, had to Google it lol. Yea smoked jowls are hard to beat! I raise a few hogs every year and found a good butcher that'll do the jowls for me. The few hogs I sell, I make sure they get the jowls too. Everyone is like, "I've been missing out"!

    I'm 100% happy with my Flir PTS Pro233. I haven't had any issues. I've hunted with it from well below zero temps to hot summer nights. I got it just under 2k. Flir and Pulsar are the most used around me.

    I hunt with a Flir PTS PRO233. Its Flir's entry level thermal. They can be had for just under 2k. I got a buddy with the entry level Pulsar thermal and a cousin that got the Photon night vision scope. Cousin is wishing he saved up a bit and went thermal.

    I just upgraded to a fusion. No complaints so far. The controller is night and day more user friendly over my old wildfire. The sounds are crystal clear and often can't tell the difference from a real coyote vs the caller!

    I stake down dead hogs. I mostly hunt over dead cows though. Keep your pile about 100yds out from where you plan to set up. I typically make sure to keep it out in the open fields about 50 yds from a treeline.
