Suppressors Y'all have to check this out. ebay link

Re: Y'all have to check this out. ebay link It does look like a pretty good design though, wish it was legal here in the US to order direct. Heck, I wouldn't even have a problem filling out the paperwork and paying for the stamp if I could do a form 1, order it, then do my form 1 "build" from...

Gunsmithing Removing a stuck breach plug on a T/C ?

Re: Removing a stuck breach plug on a T/C ? I had the same thing happen to my CVA buckhorn mag inline. It was my own dumbass fault, forgot to use anti-seize and left it loaded (with no primer of course) over the winter. Breech plug was in there solid. I ended up firing the load out, then...

    Suppressors ***FREE SILENCER GIVEAWAY***

Re: ***FREE SILENCER GIVEAWAY*** Registered for SWR specwar Hope I win, I've been wanting a can for years, just recently talked my wife into letting me get one. I also already talked to my County Sheriff, he has agreed to sign a form 4 for me! I also have an SOT less than 100 miles from me...

Why do you guys think the .17HMII failed to

Re: Why do you guys think the .17HMII failed to I thing a lot of people didn't think that it would be a good enough performer out of a 22lr case. You lose quite a bit of bullet mass for a so-so velocity gain. I have an HMR and love the heck out of it. What makes it so devastating on small...

My "Budget" .223 build finally done

Re: My "Budget" .223 build finally done All I can say is WOW. That is one sweet work of art. I've put together a few rifles, but never had the confidence to try and build my own stock. Now that I see how nice yours turned out, I may give it a go. I've always been more of a metal worker, but...

WOW @ Savage....coming to bat big time!

Re: WOW @ Savage....coming to bat big time! I never shot a savage until last year. I was having some rough times financially, but desperately wanted a predator rifle. I moved to MS for a new job, and the ranch that I'm renting a house on has (had) a serious yote problem. I bought a savage...

    22 trace through scope?

Re: 22 trace through scope? I've seen the bullet in flight a few times. The first time I saw it I thought I was hallucinating. I was shooting some copper washed bullets out of my 10/22 real close to sunset with the sun at my back. I kept seeing little gold colored blobs that looked like fast...

What ammo will function in 10/22

Re: What ammo will function in 10/22 Yeah, mags are a big issue with 10/22's. I bought 10 30 rd eagle mags from CDNN when they had a sale on them. I honestly wasn't expecting much for the price, thats why I bought so many. Believe it or not, 9 out of the 10 function consistently good once I...

Gunsmithing Small Ring Spanish mauser build question

Re: Small Ring Spanish mauser build question Thanks, I never even thought about 7.62x39. I absolutely love that round, and it would be a perfect low recoil cartridge for my wife!!! Plus, cheap to shoot. Is anyone making a barrel for the SRM in that caliber, or would I need to find some kind...

Gunsmithing Best product to remove Krylon paint job?

Re: Best product to remove Krylon paint job? easy-off oven cleaner works great, use it all the time for stripping paint off of motorcycle engine cases. Not sure about using it on plastic though. I've heard good things about citristrip, but I've never personally used it.

Gunsmithing Why won't a Savage eject cases?

Re: Why won't a Savage eject cases? I've used brake cleaner for years to clean guns. I am almost sure that gun scrubber is pretty much brake cleaner in a different can (and 2-3x the price), or something close to it. Just dont get brake cleaner on painted parts, it will dissolve some paints.

What ammo will function in 10/22

Re: What ammo will function in 10/22 Mine shoots about everything, the only ammo that I've had problems with is a bulk pack of federal match that I bought at wally world. I may have gotten a bad batch, because it wouldn't function in my buckmark pistol or my marlin mod. 60 either. Everything...

Gunsmithing Small Ring Spanish mauser build question

Re: Small Ring Spanish mauser build question I can see how a stock steel buttplate would kill one's shoulder. I'm probably going to put them in a Boyd's stock. I got such a good deal on the actions (plus my FFL guy only charged me a $15 fee for both actions), I can splurge on nice stocks...

Gunsmithing Small Ring Spanish mauser build question

I am in the process of gathering parts for 2 spanish mauser builds. I picked up 2 complete actions on GB for a smokin deal. I know that these pre 98 action are not as strong as 98 large rings. I am looking for advice on caliber selection. I'm wanting to build a pair of tactical/varmint rifles...

Gunsmithing Why won't a Savage eject cases?

Re: Why won't a Savage eject cases? Thanks for the info, apparently I'm not alone with this problem. I bought myself a savage edge in 223 for Christmas. Outstanding little rifle. 1 hole groups @ 100 yds with handloads are the norm since I got the barrel broken in and smoothed out the trigger...

Gunsmithing WTF my Walther P22 Blew UP!!!

Re: WTF my Walther P22 Blew UP!!! WOW, glad you are OK. I was seriously considering getting one for my wife, until I saw this. I've never shot or handled a p22, but I think I'm gonna go with a buckmark for my wife. I have one that I've had for 10+ years and love it. She would never shoot...

    new .22 decision

Re: new .22 decision IMHO, it's hard to beat a 10/22. You can pick up a used one for a song, it is a tried and true platform, there are more parts and accessories made for it than and other 22, it will function with any ammo you feed it, it's easy to work on for anyone with a basic knowledge...
